Feb 2022 folk dreams uke freak-folk harmonies nebula phosphenes lullabye
a lullabye
I got another glitch and I kept it for posterity (do i know the meaning of that word, truly?)
and names of many nebulas
what's the word for what your eyes see when you close your eyes?
PHOSPHENES
E gm# Fm# B
close your eyes and watch the shapes change
clouds of red and purple inkstains
a nest inside your cavernous mind
press your eyelids
do you see the galaxy?
red blotches and white streaks (glitch!)
constellations, water rippling
expanding, contracting nebulas
butterfly rorshach bleeding thru
blood rushes to the eyes
ahh.....
retina, ring, helix nebula
little ghost, lagoon nebula
orion, fetus, nest nebula
red spider, bow tie nebula
lemon slice, cat's eye nebula
trifid, tarantula nebula
soap bubble, blue snowball nebula
phantom streak, owl nebula
engraved hourglass

lovely harmonies and a great cosmic sounding loop on the uke!
nice free association (or not) lyrics - great fit for the hypnotic music.
I think you mean E G#m F#m B.

oooh, I had to pause this and throw on the headphones, the chorus effect is really cool and strangely calming. Love the lead vocal up-front, loud and dry, with your fractured backing vocals so distant. A really cool and original production and intriguing lyric.

Thank you for reminding me. i used to love doing this as a kid and imaging what it was I was seeing. The dreamy feel of the song lends itself to the suggestion, together with that wonderful recitation of all the wonderful names. And the swirly uke is just right, behind the dream-shifting voice.

So floaty and lovely - adore your harmonies and voice! The effect on the uke sounds awesome. Lyrics are amazing too

Some of favorite stuff I've heard this year, very consistent and thoughtful songs.

So wonderful to hear your ukulele lullaby! It's so soothing and sweet. I love the phosphenes concept. My friend Michael Ruby has a book of poetry "Close Your Eyes" that is a devoted to this. http://poeticslist.chicagoschoolofpoetics.com/2018/07/the-new-ebook-from-argotist-ebooks-is-close-your-eyes-by-michael-ruby/
