really struck home how powerful a pairing titles and instrumentals can be. the sound you have on that bass drum/explosion is so effective and chilling. the mournful and beautiful wail-like singing. all heartbreakingly but beautifully capturing some of the feelings so hard to process.
Isn’t it amazing, you need one word as a title, and then this mood already hits you in the feels, because you just UNDERSTAND. This is very moving, the mournful wails say it all.
'More like a painting than a song' is a beautiful idea. I get a strong sense of genesis - of creation, the setting of things in motion that will, over the course of a lifetime or many, create a story for the ages. I see the waves of a dark and stormy sea crashing against sheer cliffs, and an emboldened young heroine out to find a way for her family and community to escape a senseless war.
I love it as is. It's definitely film score worthy, and for a key scene...like when the heros have lost everything and defeat is highly likely because the enemy is just too much but they pick themselves up and go in for a final attempt. Choose your ending (depends on if the film was made in Hollywood or ... anywhere else)
Total theme music for for a series. Reminiscent of (nerd alert) Battlestar Galactica, in the best way possible. Impending doom with hopeful strains woven throughout.
Odessa...This imparts such a powerful feeling. I'm just now realizing what images you are trying to conjure up with this song. I said, when I first posted this comment, that I could easily see this as music for a movie screenplay. That's true but it's even more suited as an emotional musical backdrop for the tragic current events playing out in Ukraine. This is indeed very somber and moving...
The singing is almost like wailing (though beautiful) and the drumbeat, given the current context, seems ominous, foreboding. Not sure words are needed. Very moving.
Whoa. Certainly more than an auditory tone poem. An epic devastation in a film score, more like. Beautiful and haunting. Knowing you years ago, it's beyond my wildest imagination you'd be coming up with something like this. I adore it.

Feels like these soaring panning across the mountains then zooming along into the valley shots in a lush movie

Very atmospheric. And ominous sounding - like the opening to a thriller. I don't think you need any words.
