No story fo this one, just me, feeling like I've been involved in some sort of crazy cult-like intense creative experience for the last 3 1/2 weeks and its taken a lot out of me....or something? Anyway not sure how many more I've got in me, so I sat down with a mission to write a short song with the 12 string and the upright, and....yay? I guess? This is a twisted love song I guess but maybe this is why I don't play what I call love songs for my wife....?
If I could I'd capture the bridge
I'd sandbag the yard
just to keep my love from you
And if I could
I'd hide it in a box
locked under a mountain
to keep my love from you
But you've overrun my defenses
your spies slipped through my fences
And so here we are
face to face me and you
I lay down my arms
you've captured my love

That was a really neat sound doubling the bass with the guitar.
Great lyric too.

Standup bass..cool sounds awesome. Clever take on the "captured' theme.

The bass is great, and the 12 string is very much like a harpsichord. Very interesting themes in the lyrics.

This is sweet - like sweet cool, not as much romantic. Makes me want to restring my 12 string and actually use it.

If "crazy cult-like intense creative experience" produces music like this then I'm here for the patchooli (sp?)
Great stuff. I love the vulnerability in the simple arrangement and the mix is really nice and up close / personal. That double bass sounds yummy. Really enjoyed.

Hi! Your opening riff sounds really cool on the 12 string! Also you have some nice unexpected chord changes, like on "defenses" and "captured" that give your song a little spice in the right places for emphasis. Thank you for sharing this!
