Feb 2022 ss022522f superskirmish wave
Thought I'd hop onto a skirmish, right quick, and write one, right quick! Thanks, @scubed , for hosting and inspiring!
You took me down by
The coral reef
Left me breathless
Beyond belief
I stood spellbound
You disappeared
But I trusted you
Never had no fear
Suddenly the spell was broke
I turned around to see you wave
Found myself careening
Into a watery grave
I looked up to see you wave
I looked up to see you wave

Liking the guitar right off bat.
I think the conversational vocals work really nice with the feel of the guitar.
The kind of ominous lyrics seem to take a dark turn which contrasts with the guitar, and it makes this whole thing pretty intriguing - what the heck happened between these two???
Or...was this a person and their boat, with the person putting their trust in their beloved vessel which they thought was beautiful and was left breathless every time they looked at and boarded it? And it betrayed them by sinking for some unknown reason.
I like lyrics that leave me intrigued and with not all the answers.

You are going gold with the polysemy thing! I am going to have to try it next time I work a song title and see if I can mine as much stuff.
This is a neat, musically contemplative piece. Get a very vivid image of standing confounded at a rough, rocky, shore place.

Nice sounding guitar, and vocals. Good lyric too! Enjoyed listening.

Oooh, nice! Lots of storytelling packed into a few lines. The mellow music gives no hint to the dark turn the story is about to take. Great skirmishing!

Again nice acoustic guitar sound, I like the dynamics and variations of the chords.
I like the brevity of the impactful lyric too.

This is a nice take on the prompt. Nice sound. With the two meanings of wave implied, I believe this would also meet the week 3 challenge.
