I wanted to do a skirmish for the first time ever but got back home late. Decided to write some nonsense and do it for week 4 challenge. I had a couple of lines written down and then ad libbed over the chords and this weirdness came out.
It was an accident for me too!
Well, except that I did it on purpose,
And I have zero regrets,
And I’d do it again in a heartbeat,
Extra jumbo mumbo jumbo,
All the lies I told to get you,
I can’t really play the clarinet,
Second chair in the orchestra,
Bum notes and uneasy glances,
I never learned to read the sheet music,
I just make it up as I go along,
The composer is now dead and gone,
I guess he’s just decomposing now,
So I play happy accidents,
And palm them off as genius,
If you play a wrong note, just play it again,
It makes it look like it was done on purpose.

I've definitely been there with just faking through sheet music! You overachieved this year! I would say this melancholy quirky piece could well be a bonus song played after the album is supposedly done...and then after 2 minutes or so, it comes in. Always a pleasure!

Hahaha I love the decomposing composer line. I also have much respect for your haunting whistling game, I cannot whistle to save my life lol!

Ad lib lyrics are always so fun. Like hey brain what’s in there, wth!?? Super mysterious but cool lyrics and such a smooth breezy delivery. The simple instrumentation suits the lyrics quite well.

The decomposing made me smile. Making it up as you go along was just what you were doing. The whistle in there was mystical. I liked your chords rolling along peacefully.
