This is a silly song I came up with this morning.
never give the devil your shoe size
better just to give him your soul
because once you give the devil your shoe size
you've given him total control
the devil once worked as a shoe shiner
in London town
to get a gentleman's shoe size
he would kneel down
but a clever man knows
wherever he goes
that the devil is gonna be close
so never give the devil your shoe size
better just to give him your soul
because once you give the devil your shoe size
you've given him total control
the devil can't guess a shoe size
nor can he observe
he can only ask what is your shoe size
while he's in disguise
don't look in his eyes
just see through his lies
and never give the devil your shoe size
better just to give him your soul
because once you give the devil your shoe size
you've given him total control
the devil worked at the bowling alley
that's where I found him
when he asked for my shoe size
I said can't you see for yourself
and I knew it was him
when he pulled the wrong pair off of the shelf
when I said devil begone
he provided the last verse of this song
he said by your toe bones and nails
the devil never fails
by the balls and soles of your feet
one day again we will meet
that's why you must
never give the devil your shoe size
better just to give him your soul
because once you give the devil your shoe size
you've given him total control
never give the devil your shoe size
better just to give him your soul
because once you give the devil your shoe size
you've given him total control

Always love me a good devil song (guess it's my love of the Grateful Dead and the fact that life brought me to Reno). Great little song! It reminds me of another of my favorite bands, Ween. This would fit right in on almost any of their albums.

Your seedy half-talking vocals are fantastic! Great instrumental choices, too- love the way it slinks and rattles along.
(Not sure if this is what the song is about, but it reminds me of some of the shenanigans on Facebook, where people seem to have the greatest difficulty telling the malign from the innocent. In both directions.)
