This song took up like half of FAWM, for some reason. I should have moved on, but I kept digging and felt compelled to finish it.
There are things I'd change if I could easily re-write or re-record it. But maybe those things will gnaw at me until I do so later.
Yesterday I was walking down a road we used to walk along
I turned myself around
I thought that I,
I could almost hear your footstep right behind
And time unwinds again
And you should know I’ll always love you
Even though our roads are far apart
You should know I would be there with you
Why did you ever go?
Will I be fine?
Will I be fine (if I can make it through this)?
Will I be fine?
Will I be fine?
(If I can make it through, this time)
I can't move
I hear a voice that's unmistakable
Calling out of view
Before my eyes
A visit from a solitary cardinal
I know that bird was you
And you should know I’ll always love you
Even though our roads are far apart
You should know I would be there with you
Till we both fly away
Will I be fine?
Will I be fine (if I can make it through this)?
Will I be fine?
Will I be fine?
(If I can make it through, this time)
And you should know I’ll always love you
Even though you're many miles away
And you should know I'll be always with you
We didn't always see eye to eye
Will I be fine?
Will I be fine (if I can make it through this)?
Will I be fine?
Will I be fine?
(If I can make it through, this time)

That change after the chorus with the introduction of the keys/synth was completely unexpected and really made my ears perk up, adding to what was already an enjoyable song. Nice job.

This was worth revisiting! The hook is cool and it's a message we all need now. Love the whistling outro!

This song is so rhythmically and melodically innovative! The nice harmonic combinations of acoustic and electric guitars really create a cohesive sound, reminiscent of early Fleet Foxes or Mumford & Sons. I love the sudden change to E Minor after the chorus, it adds a whole extra layer of intrigue to the character of the song. Great work!
