Always been fascinated by dragonflies. Ancient creatures with a touch of magical mystery about them. They have stories but keep their secrets.
Literally no idea what I did. iPhone voice recording, chords from Odesi, fiddled with on Bandlab.
Cobalt flashes
In misty skies
Hazy dreaming
Forgotten sighs
Lacy beauty
Yet still strong
Of magic made
A siren song
Fly fly fly
Spread your wings
Up into the
Sky sky sky
Fly dragonfly fly
All seeing eyes
Reflective gaze
Facets of hope
For future days
Shining beauty
Life in cosmos
Fragile power
Radiant strokes
Fly fly fly
Spread your wings
Up into the
Sky sky sky
Fly dragonfly fly
Spirits lifted
Souls aglow
Hearts beating fire
Fly Dragonfly fly
Gravity defy
Reach for the sky
Fly Dragonfly fly
Fly fly fly
Spread your wings
Up into the
Sky sky sky
Fly dragonfly fly

Love the way you read the words, full of passion and wonder - the chorus worked particularly well! Overall the words are great, cobalt flashes and fragile power being my faves.
I enjoyed the music, the repetition gave more weight to the words, particularly as the reading was so characterful. Enjoyed this one and can imagine the dragonflies whizzing around. One got in our house once, a bit of a terrifying experience! #tit4tat

The voices underneath are like encouraging wings for this flight, the urgency in your voice to "fly" sells the need for this to happen, works really well in the spoken word style. #tit4tat.

Adding my #tit4tat. Your dragonfly verse evokes mystery, the sounds lifting softly in the background. The voice encouraging the dragonfly, wishing it to rise. Beautiful images.

From your bio I understand that you're a lyricist primarily. However, it's always inspiring when the author's voice is heard. I've often suggested to a few lyricist here in FAWMland to do a spoken word piece once in a while. You went for it; it soars and it's a win. Hope you do more like that in the future. Seriously...I would love to collab with you at some point.

It's nice to experience a poetry vibe in this song :) I think the line 'Fly dragonfly fly' really made me get that vibe. Sounds like an intuive write, also after having listened to this. Yes, there's a good music/vocals match. #tit4tat

It's so great to hear your words in your own voice. Even with form and punctuation it's hard to convey from the written page the rhythms you hear when you write your lyrics. The opening line "Cobalt flashes in misty skies" instantly puts you in the frame of mind for this piece. Loved "Fragile power", "gravity defy", "reflective gaze" I really enjoyed this. #tit4tat

This is really emotional, your spoken words made the lyrics very exciting and mimicked the flight of a dragonfly very well. The background music with the beat fitted in very well.

The words dart rapidly, full of energy, but land on the ears ever so softly. Perfect for the motif. The percussion sets the heart racing but the vocals and synths offer a gentle, zephyrlike release.
The repeated calls of 'fly' in the chorus dart briskly in and out, their assonance like the gentle draught from a swishing insect.

This is really lovely! I love your spoken word - your phrasing and emotion are lovely delivering the wonderfully poetic lyrics. The use of repetition is very effective. Beautiful musical stage for this piece too!

Cool groove to this, along with excellent imagery, repetition and insistence in the spoken word to fly.

Nice imagery in the lyrics. The spoken word works with the drum machine and synth pad. #tit4tat

A whitewater rafting guide told me that whenever dragonflies land on you, it symbolizes good luck. While I was reading these lovely lyrics I thought back to that moment--I love how they shine in the sun. Your lyrics all evoked these thoughts. I think this is fabulous!
"Lacy beauty
Yet still strong
Of magic made
A siren song"
Lovely!

i think dragonflies are beautiful in repose, in flight, and so elegant in a totally different way. The lyric captures the flash and delight admirably.
