This arises out of the Four-Chord Loop challenge, to write a song featuring ONLY four chords. The sections within the song would only be distinguished by melody or instrumentation or rhythm.
I call it Mind Rolling as this thing is in 12/8 time, and seems to have a propulsive energy of its own. I could see a more expansive version of this, perhaps eventually played by a better pianist or orchestrated.
When this was forming (yes, passive tense, but it's weird how things come to me sometimes, without thinking too much about them, as if by magic), I was initially thinking that there'd be lyrics. This evolved as an instrumental so beautifully that I decided to leave it alone for now as is. But I may challenge myself to write some lyrics for it and bring it forth as part of the FAWM challenge on another day. I think it's lyrical enough, that is, the melody sings enough to warrant lyrics. If anyone would like to write some for this, feel free to contact me.

I really like this song Jeff-it gives me a sense of being carried away by a river. I don't think you need lyrics for this at all. It's fully formed as is! This might be my favorite of yours so far.

This sounds awesome Jeff. I love the flow of the melody, and it feels like it keeps rolling on. I agree with Erin that you have a nice talent for this. You've really be showing your contemplative side in this FAWM and it's been some great stuff. Keep mining that vein!

Beautiful chords and flow, Jeff. I didn't know you were a piano player - it has been a pleasure to hear you play on some of your originals this month!
