Miss Nomer wrote the lyrics, Phil wrote the music.
When my nest is empty,
and all the birds have flown
The laundry will stay caught up,
with no one grabbing my phone
When my nest is empty,
I'll change the locks on the doors
So they can't come back here,
to raid the fridge once more
When my nest is empty,
there'll be no blaring radio
No endless filling up the tank,
and non-stop go-go-go!
When my nest is empty,
no stacks of dishes in the sink.
I'll kick back in my recliner,
and I'll have a nice big drink!
I'll pick up on my hobbies,
left alone for umpteen years
And maybe take a trip,
or get some pretzels and some beer
There'll be peace and quiet,
repose will come at last!
Mornings will be tranquil,
and in the evening I can smoke my stash!
When my nest is empty,
and all the birds have flown
Will have some peace and quiet
and will be left alone
When my nest is empty,
and all the birds have flown
Will have some peace and quiet
and will be left alone

Excellent work, excellent sentiment and delivery. I really enjoyed this.

Love the groove - that bass just chuggin' away driving this all along!
If Sly had looked after himself more, raised a family, maybe he could've got there first and written this little masterpiece. But he didn't. You win.

I can relate to this. Became an empty nester last year. I did take up painting again. Great song,!
