Feb 2022 collab guitars winter
metalfoot; gm7 and I wanted to do a collab, so I created a base track of me, a vocal, and a simple guitar, and he did magic and you end up with this.
C G C G
Arctic breezes nipping on your face
C G C G
Snowbanks building all over the place
D
Canadian winter can be that way
C G C G
Neighbours caring, lending out their aid
C G C G
Friends come calling, keeping plans they made
D
Canadian winter can be that way
F C
Sure it feels like it's half the year
F C
And sometimes it can cause fear
F C
But it's still part of why we stay here
Am G
Canadian winter can be that way
Children playing outside in the snow
Faces rosy with a healthy glow
Canadian winter can be that way
Car tires spinning on the icy streets
People wishing well to everyone they meet
Canadian winter can be that way
Sure it feels like it's half the year
And sometimes it can cause fear
But it's still part of why we stay here
Canadian winter can be that way
E G
Take the good, take the bad
E G
And yet it's all just part of it
E G
It's the reality of living here
D
And all the pieces fit
Sure it feels like it's half the year
And sometimes it can cause fear
But it's still part of why we stay here
Canadian winter can be that way

You almost - almost - make me miss winter!
Classic @metalfoot sound and observations, with some rich and wonderful @gm7 additions. Love this one!
@andygetch Mar 2022
Such a pleasant ambience in the guitar and base track and an astonishingly cheery delivery by the man with many voices. Well done!
@kahlo2013 Mar 2022
Wonderful images of the the environment and the community in those wonderful lyrics. The guitars are great and the melody flows beautifully! Makes me want to get back to Canada!
@leepat Mar 2022
a homely picture and I confirm I've rarely met nicer strangers than Canadians.
this one would be nice around a campfire :)
@beacon Mar 2022
Lovely song. While it's a bit different in New England, I have many of the same feelings! Really nice song and it's very Canadian (as it's so nice!)
@sherrylynnlee Mar 2022
This made me chuckle because half-year Canadian winters have certainly caused me enough fear to move to California xD
@seppo Mar 2022
This could as well be a song from Finland and countryside.
It made me hate snow just a little less :)
@donna Mar 2022
Ah heck! Now you've made me homesick! (-: I've experienced every word in the lyric. ;)
Sounds like you were lucky having winter only half the year. LOL Where I lived, we had snap frosts in May. Birds froze to death on the telephone wires and would fall into the street.
Love the vocals and the music. Thank you both for the nostalgia. ;)
@dreamscuba Mar 2022
Great collaboration....a nice view into the Canadian winters... Great work guys #tit4tat
@ambroise Mar 2022
I love the alternating G & C chords in the begining, it makes me feel I'm walking at the rythm of the music wearing moonboots.
I've been a cople of time to Canada but never on wintertime. And people have told me you didn't really saw Canada if you only saw it in summertime. One day maybe.
@katestantonsings Feb 2022
Canadians have to deal with cold winters, but they have some of the warmest hearts! Love my neighbors up north. I sat back to this song and imagined Banff in my mind's eye. Lovely work you two! #Tit4Tat
@gorban Feb 2022
Nice one! I totally relate, LOL.
@timfatchen Feb 2022
Hafta say....I love the winter, the snow, blizzards, ice, cold etc etc BUT I can always drop a few thousand feet and go home to just simply cold and frosty without the shovelling! At least this happy song answers why you put up with it!
@nadine Feb 2022
I've never been to Canada but I have the impression that Canadians are lovely people. Maybe it helps to get through a half year long winter. The song sounds very cozy and catchy.
@phylo Feb 2022
You've summed up exactly how I think it is for my daughter living in Toronto. She's a California girl in the Great White North. This is a lovely tune well written and performed. Nice collab!
@cindyrella Feb 2022
I love this! I love winter and it isn't as long here but I still enjoy it. Great details and performance!
