This one is for my wife.
You got a way of keeping me on my toes
Feels like I oughta learn to sleep with just one eye closed
But if I get stuck in a cloudy mood
You whisper me some sunshine 'til I come unglued
You burst my bubble
You're nothing but trouble
The best kind to get into
Your laughter always takes my legs out at the sound
And I've never been so happy to get knocked down
Well it's a mystery, but I've got a clue
There's some mischief in my heart, and when it comes to you
That goes double
You're nothing but trouble
The best kind to get into
I would be a fool not to see
The way you have of bringing out the child in me
You push my buttons and pull all my alarms
You help me find my way when it's dark
Your charms have a power that can throw off sparks
I feel it humming when I hold you in my arms
Sometimes you turn your cheek when I'm kissing you goodbye
But I can see that playful gleam you get in your eye
You cross your fingers but you tell the truth
If I checked your sleeve I bet I'd find a trick or two
Sure you got a couple
You're nothing but trouble
The best kind to get into
I wanna get in trouble with you

"You're nothing but trouble
The best kind to get into"
Well that's it in a nutshell! a nutshell
This is such a great write and a wonderful song. Love your jazzy guitar and vocals. There's a whimsy in your arrangement that really mirrors the tongue and cheek quality of your lyrics and the playfulness between you two. Good one!

This is a really fun song. Definitely a love song, yet the clever wordplay keeps it from being cloying. Very fun. I like this line in particular:
If I checked your sleeve I bet I'd find a trick or two
Glad I found your page.

Delightful guitar/guitar percussion. Great melody, great presentation and a genuine happy love/companion song, and definitely another one for my download-keepers pile! Love all the metaphors and their extensions ("power/humming" "buttons/alarms" "Sleeve/trick'. I listen again but I'm out of time and anyway, it's safely in the download vault!

How sweet! What a lovely tribute to your wife. A lighthearted lovely melody and vocal. It left me smiling. Really enjoyed this one.

Romantic and jazzy, this has a terrifically affectionate "lazy Sunday morning together" vibe. Utterly charming, with the relaxed guitar supporting the playful lyrics and vocals perfectly. Very nice!

There's so much great wordplay here. I really love the refrain at the end of each verse. Great playing and your voice is so strong and confident sounding. Great bridge too. So much to like about this!
