When a bin in the office reminds you of "The Spy Who Loved Me."
Can't believe I've got this far through FAWM before picking up the baritone uke.
When a spy meets a spy
The flirting can get rather manic
That feeling when you know she “gets” you
Half passion, half panic.
I knew you were hiding something
Now I get a little taste
As we sway
With my arms around your
Confidential waist.
When a spy meets a spy
You don’t want to ask what she’s thinking
If you’re shaken and lightly stirred
It’s not what you’re drinking.
I know we’ll betray each other
It’s the sternest test I’ve faced
As we sway
With my arms around your
Confidential waist.
As I look into your fiery eyes
I see right through them into fiery skies
We’re both aware that seven billion lives
Are lightly balanced on the edges of our knives
[repeat V1]

Such a sweet sounding song, agree with earlier comments for the key change on the bridge. Really felt something with the first two lines, the fiery eyes to fiery skies bit. good stuff!!

This is so gentle and melodic, yet the lyric is so sharp and kind of darkly funny. Seven billion lives "lightly balanced" on your knives--so good

So nice! "My arm around your confidential waist" really gets to me for some reason. And your key change at "As I look into your fiery eyes," is lovely. Bridge is killer, superb rhyming too.

I think my favorite part of this (apart from everything else!) was when you slipped into "Elvis mode" on the first "As we sway" line. Also, the first four lines of the second verse are brilliant: "If you’re shaken and lightly stirred/It’s not what you’re drinking" is especially good. Well done!

"Confidential waist" had me laughing out loud and frightening my cats!
This is wonderful. Brilliant performance of an excellent lyric. Still grinning here! :-D
