You’re holding a rope
Tied in a knot
If you’ve been my post
I’m glad it’s unravelling
Through this talk
Sad that I don’t feel the mist anymore
That’s carried in the gentle air
‘Till it’s more than a whisper
And collects my hair
I won’t deny that it’s there
So know
I’m trying to find another home
As long as I keep the raft afloat
You’e telling me everything’s a storm?
How can I prevent another hole?
I’ll wade in a pool to reflect for some time
My vision is distorted just a bit
For I am surrounded by
The ripples of such minor things
The stone goes skip, skip, skip
I won’t let go of this gift
Somethings I can’t afford to forget
Like the sodden gravel road
The big concrete steps
With edges stark as paper folds
Skull like an egg at 6 years old
Now shells will crack beneath my toes
Funny how we grow, grow, grow
So know
I’m trying to find another home
As long as I keep this raft afloat
You’re telling me everything’s a storm
How can I prevent another hole?
Back to that time no concern on my mind
Awe at the red horizon line
I ran down the flight to the gravel to the sand so fine
To leave everything behind
I was seized
Like drying sheets
Wrung life out of me saw my ankles bleed
The rope gotta hold on me
Well the ropes what set me free
So know
I’m trying to find another home
As long as I keep the raft afloat
You’e telling me everywhere’s a storm?
How can I prevent another hole?
No different than your damn place below
Starting fresh
Same child glow
But if I run towards death
I may never know
No rope to hold

I really like your guitar playing. It's so gentle and suits this lovely melody well. Nice vocal too. Good song.
