I'm officially sick of my own misery
Plus side is this is song 14!!!
This song wallows in the mire a little too much.
I need something new to write about
Lift the weight off your shoulder I’ll take you to bed
While scene runs back over and over again
You remember the way you smiled in the wind
You remember the dreams of what could have been
If you lost your ambition would you let yourself know
If your smile starts to crack would you let the hurt show
Face that you gave wasn’t just a charade but
Still it’s enshrined on the wall
We always knew
And we saw it all right through til the end
Till we got so low that we hit the bottom
forever true love til it wasn’t
I swore I would love you forever
You swore you would let me love you
Although we’re not together for worse or for better
But I said that I would and I do
I know that you feel the same I know that you do

The chord progression and melody combo immediately sticks out to me. It's almost got a 2000s indie ballad sort of charm to it. It's got a sadness to it in sort of an understated melancholic sort of way. I love the hook of "Forever true love til it wasn't". The lyrics are all full of longing in a way that really sticks out to me, I especially like the first verse with the image of nostalgic scenes cruelly replaying in the narrator's head. I also really like the bridge bit with the "You swore you'd let me love you[...]I said that I would and I do", it strikes me as a big moment. Great song here!
