I listened to a new song on FAWM and I was about to comment using the phrase "shimmery sheen" to describe the sound, but instead wrote and recorded this song really fast, and forgot to finish my comment. I was hearing the solo work of Tobin Sprout in my head, with his reedy voice and melancholic pop rock style. For all I know, I might've ganked the melody, but I don't.
It’s too cold for popsicles
there is no stand to blow
out here, standing in the cold
at the ten o’clock bus stop
i’m too old to slip
your name, whispered on my lips
CHORUS
i’m here, you’re there
in the shimmery sheen
i’m here, nowhere
you know what I mean
Verse 2
On the ruined-plans business trip
among the cheats and the strays
rolling thunder of underdog days
avant garde liquor store
that old infected wound
in the city where nothing but trouble gets brewed

Toby Sprout, was he in Guided by The Voices? The lyrics have a bit of that striking poetry stuff, in the second verse. I like this soft or gentle yet indie-rock-influenced song. Great title too. It sounds nice and adds a bit of a mystery: so, where is she, really? :)

Love the imagery, especially in the second verse. Totally shimmery. Love that old fashioned bass line and those floaty guitars in the chorus.

That guitar part has a nice shimmery sheen to it! Great vocals (and harmonies) and this moves along nicely. Pure Pop for now people.
