a brief history of fronds o’ bracken:
i didn’t lie about being the outdoor type… but still i never spoke and rarely heard the word “frond” when i was a lad…
so when i fell in love with a guitar-wielding young lass, and she sangs songs she claimed were from the bevis frond, i took notice of the name.
all these years later, i find myself studying the ferning patterns of cervical mucus, and my textbook waxes lyrical about the frond patterns. and as a helpful example for usage, my trusty dictionary provides: "fronds of bracken"...
it was just a wee skip and jump from there to this.
there are bracken drums on this other version:

solo:
o-a-walk with me ‘n’ through yer fronds o’ bracken
o-a-walk with me ‘n’ o’er hill ‘n’ dale
o-a-walk with me ‘n’ all th’ way there ‘n’ back ag’n
o’ th’ morrow ‘cross the o’cean i’m’a’sail
ah ah kin feel y’r soils agin my nethers
ah ah kin hear y’r steady bloodlines hum
ah ah kin smell the changin’ o’ y’r weathers
n’ taste your cleansin’ rains afore they come
ah ah kin smell th’ fiddleheads in springtime
a-skippin’ down the meadow t’ards the mill
ah ah kin see the ferning o’ the mucus
ah ah kin feel y’r fertile fettle still.
sweet harmony:
i’ll-a-walk wi’ you ‘n’ through yer fronds o’ bracken
i’ll-a-walk wi’ you ‘n’ o’er hill ‘n’ dale
i’ll-a-walk wi’ you ‘n’ all th’ way there ‘n’ back ag’n
for o‘cross the mighty o’cean i’m’a’sail
a-night ah’m always dreamin’ o’ the moorland
no mettle where e’er that i may roam
mah mind’s eye’s e’er soarin’ like th’ eagle
jus’ here dreamin’ o’ the shrubberies o’ home.
there’s men a-say they cannah place m’ accen’
there’s endless speculation where ah’m from
ah, b’ ah’m thinkin’ of m’ homelan’ e’ery momen’
ah, whar’m i now and wha-ave ah become?
sweet chorus:
o-a-walk with me ‘n’ through yer fronds o’ bracken
o-a-walk with me ‘n’ o’er hill ‘n’ dale
o-a-walk with me ‘n’ all th’ way there ‘n’ back ag’n
o’ th’ morrow ‘cross the o’cean i’m’a’sail
o’ th’ morrow ‘cross the o’cean i’m’a’sail

Unusual, I cannae quite place the accent! But I really like this, well done, a bit unexpected but welcome. Good work indeed.

I love this. Very good vocals, they sound rough and refined at the same time. The lyrics are very cool and I like that this is sort-of in dialect.
