Remembering a loss.
World Falling Apart - Tim LaBorie - © 2022
What was the feeling in my heart
Was it the sound of God or just
The sound of my loss.
How could I hold on to my heart
When you were gone and everything
Fell apart.
I tried to hold myself together
The harder I tried the more I fell apart
I wanted to put myself back together
But the pieces were all too far apart
What was that feeling when you fell
Out of my life into the flames
into the tower.
How could you hold on to your heart
When you were falling all apart
Did you have time to remember?
No way to hold yourself together
Not when you’re being all blown apart
No way to put yourself back together
When the pieces are all so far apart.
Now when I listen to the sound of my heart
All that I hear is the world falling apart.

The harmonica gives this a deeper feeling of grief. The second half made me shiver. The loss of 9/11 quickly coming to mind. Feeling like your heart is falling apart and then remembering someone literally losing their life. Powerful song.

Devastatingly sad but beautiful. The harmonica adds so much to the mood. Such a terrible loss.

You really capture the sadness of these lyrics with that nice melody. I love what the harmonica adds to this song, too. Well done!!

Powerful. So sad and mournful. I feel like this is a deep sorrow for the world and on a personal level.
