the prompt "all is fair in love and songwriting" got me thinking of how songwriting is a great therapy tool. and here we landed....
more cost effective than therapy
chords am,bm,em,c
daily stresses they were getting to me
i was feeling it affecting my health
i was thingking its time to
go find a professional being
but then I wrote a song and it helped
it took a journey to my musical mind
for me to finally land on the truth
that songwriting is more cost effective
than therapy
all i needs a pen and pad and my uke
relationship drama? go write a song
unresolved issues with mama? go write a song
werent held enough as a child? didnt belong?
well you can right these wrongs
when you sit and write a song
it took a journey to my musical mind
for me to finally land on the truth
that songwriting is more cost effective
than therapy
all i needs a pen and pad and my uke

Listened to this on the FAWMcast, really like it! Can absolutely relate, music is often therapeutic. I also like your voice a lot!

I endorse this song 100%. Not that therapy isn't important too, but there's nothing like picking up your ukulele and playing! I bet the world would be a happier place if everyone made and shared their music.

You ain't never lied. Nice write!

So then doing this was meta-therapy? I like it.

Words that we here need to hear or already know in our bones. Lovely easy delivery and some great lyrics.

oh man!
this made me smile.
i love when you list issues that can be resolved by songwriting. also, that all you need is a pen and pad and my uke.
great delivery. it felt like we were having a chat over coffee.
bravo! and thank you for the skirmish!

So dreamy and relaxing to listen to. Listening to your song is more cost effective than therapy too. Clever lyrics and your voice is so cool, great listen.

I completely agree. I think a lot of our songs are like diary entries and take us back to where we were we created the song. Lovely uke playing and I am totally digging your vocals, especially the 3rd stanza. It is cool how you ended and uke and didn't go for the rhyme there. Really nice lyrics and very relatable to most of us. Great prompt and fun skirmish - thanks!

Lovely! Everything about it I love!

You are really into something here. A friend once said to me ‘yeah it’s ok for you you just work it out in your songs’. This reminds me of Benji by Sun Kill Moon - it’s a really nice vignette of a song - great job
