I don't know, maybe this should be added as a coda to my village song, there's not much of it and its anchored in that pattern of sentiment & sensibility as much as it's a reaction to today and today's conversations (language is a collective artwork and prescriptive politicised campaigns against usage are not new, singular they is older than singular you and the discussions of the past were also politicised along different lines. This new-to-me hit/book review article covers some of that: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/21/books/review/whats-your-pronoun-dennis-baron.html#:~:text=For%20the%20still%20unpersuaded%2C%20he,forms%20makes%20for%20potential%20ambiguity.) but this song doesn't really suit the village one tonally! Maybe it's a coda to the 'album' (I'm not taking myself very seriously) - and I wrote it on the loo!
You have to be able to robustly own a gender in a robustly devil-may-care rabble-rousing fashion, don't you!?
Je suis pas la fille et pas l'homme
Je suis pas la femme ou le garcon
Je suis... Je suis en Anglais:
A non-binary arsehole!!
