Just a little therapy writing. :)
VERSE 1
You didn’t mean to strike me
in this battle with your demons
But I forgot to shield myself
& baby I’m still I’m bleeding
I’m learning not to care so much
but still feel love for you
‘Cause I know you’d never wish on me
the hell you’ve put me through
CHORUS
You’re human but I’m wounded
I know that we'll get through this
I just need a little time to sort it out
You love me but you hurt me
I know you won’t desert me
and there’s a promise land that lies
beyond this shadow of doubt
VERSE 2
We’ve traveled side by side
down all these long and twisted roads
And I’ve seen relentless beauty
in your tender heart of gold
And you’ve offered me your hand
when I was the one in need
I just never thought you’d be the one
to cause the injury
CHORUS
BRIDGE:
You say you didn’t mean those hurtful words
but they hit so close to home
And we grew up together
but clearly we’re still growing
And it hurts so bad
but I still need you close to help me heal
Just give me something else to feel
CHORUS

Sorry to take so long to repay your visit and kind comments.. I got a list a mile long, and listening I'm sorry it took so long.
Lovely voice, and the song tears at the heart - and builds beautifully, (and you seem to know exactly what a demo needs to "prove" itself - I haven't read your bio, but you're very (very) good - i'm very impressed.... Well done.
I'ma put you down on the end of my list and come back for some more of this! Please, don't be a stranger. :)

Writing is so cathartic isn't it. This is really great. Love your vocal and the depth of the lyrics are so relatable.

These vocals are beautiful, and I love this arrangement! I like how you’re turning the “shadow of a doubt” into a real, physical place

Some really good lines in there as you explore the complexities of an uneasy love. "I know you'd never wish on me the hell you've put me through" is particularly biting. You sing beautifully and, to my ears, there isn't a wrong note in here -- it sounds great. It's a tough lyric but you've made it enjoyable to listen to.
