This song is about the power of friendship. Sometimes, you might just need someone to listen, or to take comfort in being able to sit together in silence.
Can we sit here for a while
There's a comfort I'm finding in your smile
In you I can confide
You help me see the worth that's in my life
We watch the horses they go galloping by
We watch the birds flying soaring through the sky
We watch the lambs as they gamble in the fields
And we're reminded of everything that's real
All I needed is someone to hear
To tell my troubles and the roots of my fears
Just a moment doesn't cost that much
But it's worth a lifetime for a soul to touch
We watch the horses they go galloping by
We watch the birds flying soaring through the sky
We watch the lambs as they gamble in the fields
And we're reminded of everything that's real
For what it's worth
The little things
Mean so much to me
For what it's worth
To lend an ear
Is sometimes what you need
So much value in what you're giving to me
I know I'm asking still you giving it out free
I know that I'm not that easy to be around
But when I'm lost you make me feel like I am found
We watch the horses they go galloping by
We watch the birds flying dancing through the sky
We watch the lambs as they gamble in the fields
And we're reminded of everything that's real
For what it's worth
The little things
Mean so much to me
For what it's worth
To lend an ear
Is sometimes what you need
To see things clearly
Oh oh oh
To see things clearly
Oh oh oh
For what it's worth
The little things
Mean so much to me
For what it's worth
To lend an ear
Is sometimes all you need

Ahhh...a truism to work off of today. I appreciate the message in the music. I am easily swayed by harmonies especially in folk-style tunes. And then there's the guitar instrumentation. I hear the proficiency in your playing, and it makes me regret not taking my guitar lessons a bit more seriously back in the day. Thanks for sharing this.

Won me over from the first note of the gentle bittersweet guitar. The narrative voice is perfect - that conversational tone that speaks of both simple truths and things of great poetry. Really made me feel part of the conversation. The layered vocals in the chorus are sweet and lovely.

I’m already sucked in by that beautiful finger style guitar. Such a beautiful evocative lyric and the way it steadily grows into that expansive harmony bridge. Love it! Bravo!

This song feels timeless - classic lyrics, beautiful picking, amazing harmonies (as usual). Love this.

Beautiful tune. The "we watched..." chorus is really strong and then it builds into the harmony part and just explodes. I really dig this.

You guys got this "genre" in your pocket.
It all seems so effortless, and washes over the listener, with positive power, Enjoying this exchange too much. :)
#tit4tat - 3, but I'm happy to keep going if you want.... It'll be my pleasure.

Nice guitar pattern. Great one-take! Timeless folk sound. I like the contrast between the solo singing and the harmonies. The change to strumming near the end and then harmonies are a great way to kick up the dynamics at the end.

Really pretty geetar and the lyrics are quite poignant friendship is one of the coolest parts of life. Another powerhouse of a song!

Beautiful guitar part from the off. Melody equally so. Lovely T&R goodness, through and through.

Great song and gorgeous one-take. It's really fun to imagine oneself in the same room with you two and feeling the energy of your live connection in performance. The lyrics are beautiful, and I love the part about just watching what's happening in nature and enjoying the shared experience of being in the reality of the moment together. Lovely illustration of friendship and companionship!

What a sweet little piece this is. It works partly because it's clearly from the heart. As usual the guitar and vocals are excellent, and it's an effective move placing the entry of the harmonies so far into the song. Nice work guys!

This is beautiful right off--the melody is a perfect match for the message, as it sounds very personal and intimate. I love the sentiment and those harmonies!! Wow. What a great song. Nicely done.

You guys are so lovely. Love this lyric. Y'all's delivery is ace as always. Something familiar about this one that makes the melody stick with you. Nicely done!

Another T&R winner. Love it.

Nice to hear Ryan on the melody, as we've been blessed this FAWM with a lot of Tukay's beautiful vocals ringing out.
and what everyone else said! I know when I see you've got a new song, it's going to be lovely.

Yep. Like it. The different sections, the familiar harmonies. Very hummable this one!

This is great, like all your stuff. I have to add, however, that after listening to the song I got up and had to walk upstairs to do something. I found myself singing your melody. It was there! Stuck in my head and I was belting it out...Ok, well maybe I can't really belt out and vocals but I was trying. Anyways, love'n the melody on this.

100% Tukay and Ryan here. The picked guitar, the positive message, the harmonies. The non standard form works well here

A lovely thoughtful song. The strummed changeup into the bridge( or is it the chorus?) is really nicely done. I'm liking the variety you are adding to the textures with the different strumming techniques. super competent composition, beautifully performed with a strong message - great job.
