This has been niggling away as a one liner for some time now - and today while going through and writing my set list for tonights gig it just started falling onto the paper. Im not sure about the lyric but i kind of like the melody and hook so will deffo come back to this at some point and work on it.
Ive also just realised how many songs I have about storms and flying this FAWM. Definitely a theme for me this year.
Hurricane
What started out as a dead end road
Quickly turned to gold
Im jumping between stepping stones
Thats freedom i suppose
In this storm, You and I have been exposed
To dangers and adventures that have overflowed
I never want to hide from the rain
Learning to fly in a hurricane
I cant hide for the choice i made
Learning to fly in a hurricane
I sometimes slip my head under the water
So i can hear the devil on my shoulder
Up and out, running wild, i caught her
taking everything she had on offer
I never want to hide from the rain
Learning to fly in a hurricane
I cant hide for the choice i made
Learning to fly in a hurricane
What started out as a dead end road
Quickly turned to dust

Love "I'm jumping between stepping stones / that's freedom I suppose". Some really good lines in this lyric, it's better than you think it is IMHO :)

Great rhythm to the guitars which really drives the song along. The vocals are as to be expected absolutely killer. Great melodies and lyrics

Themes can be very compelling on your creative style! Weather of course works so well both in reality and metaphorically. very strong guitar and powerful delivery!
@pippa Feb 2022
Powerful images in the words and the driving guitar carries that power into the music as well. Good song here.

That driving guitar rhythms and those suspended chords gets me every time. There are a few times when your voice gets this really cool rasp, too, and I love it. Thematically, it's fantastic, as well: we all need to reconcile our past choices with the path forward and work through the chaos that life has in store for us. That ending with a big crescendo, a mini-breakdown, and quiet vocals leaves me wanting to start the song over and over again!

Another excellent song Celine. Love the guitar work. Lyrics ands vocal as cool as ever.
@mariekevinkmusic Feb 2022
I like the sudden ending. Storms are a great topic, both literally and metaphorically. Nowt wrong with that.
@crisp1 Feb 2022
Beautiful song with a really nice melody and wonderful vocals. Learning to fly in a hurricane is a great tag line and a cool metaphor for taking risks.
@kenmattsson Feb 2022
Now that is great guitar work! Love the visuals and your singing is *chef's kiss*. Damn, I want to sing on stage with you!
@stephentanner Feb 2022
Oh yes, great song. Learning to fly in a hurricane, great metaphor. At least I hope it's a metaphor. I don't recommend attempting flight in any extreme weather conditions, especially if you're a learner. Banging tune as ever! Nice sudden ending too.

Oh hello. Blimey this is good! Such a great chord/melody combination. Feels like a classic. Chorus is killer, the metre of 'hurricane' is so so good, very very catchy. Really cool song. Fantastic vocals too :-)

That open guitar got me pumped for a journey and you didn't disappoint. Really beautiful and moving
@dragondreams Feb 2022
Love the melody and the hook! And I really like the progression that backs it. I think it's a great feeling when a song decides it's "time" and interrupts you in order to get itself out there.
@mk2021 Feb 2022
Hey, I love the lyrics here. "I slip my head under the water so I can hear the devil on my shoulder...".
@tukayandryan Feb 2022
Love the concept of this one - real baptism by fire vibe. Really cool lyrics 'learning to fly in a hurricane' - great driving guitar on this one again too. Nice unresolved ending. Boom.
