Feb 2022 spoken-word instrumental electronic fourtrack
Recorded as part of the 2022 Fawm 4-track tape challenge, BUT... this tape actually started in 2019!!
We have
2019: @vomvorton - synth
https://fawm.org/fawmers/vomvorton/
2019: @Marvsmooth - ominous bass
https://fawm.org/fawmers/marvsmooth/
2020: @Wobbiewobbit vox / lyrics
https://fawm.org/fawmers/wobbiewobbit/
2022: @rollasoc on drum machine
suspended in the fearful dark
human beings float
in filthy glass tanks torsos bloat
shine white through murky fluid
cccc
clammy slimy glistening
waxen bleached pale skin
hhhhhhhh
haunting underwater cries
in half dead sleep
pleading empty eyes
invisibly weep
hideous
sss ac ccc
shrill crackle and click and clack
gigantic Geiger insects attack
cccc
claw fang
pincers grip
grinding mucous mandibles drip
toxic hiss
oozing sticky acidic kiss
the victims fight kick flail
fail
ac ac ac ac
acrid yellow liquid venom
paralysis injects
sucking proboscis ingests
and to the infested nest
maggoty mass a crawling mess
of lardy larvae bugs
and the monsters feed hungry bulging grubs

holey moley this is creepy. Quite a turn with this 4-track across three years. Well done everyone!
@wobbiewobbit Mar 2022
@rollasoc @marvsmooth @vomvorton is it ok to include this on an album i am putting together of spoken word stuff? i am really pleased with how the fun in the horror has stood :)
@kiffa Mar 2022
I am so very glad that this didn't go forgotten and unfinished, as it's a real gem. Wobbie's vocal delivery is fantastic, and I can't tell you how much it delighted me to see all the cccc's etc. actually written out in the lyrics lol. Slightly reminds me (in mood) of a song my brother and I recorded in 1989 called 'Wall Street Week', which had lyrics like "Bulging curving rivers of crimson heart crisis/As my bloodstream crystallizes". I'm gonna play this for him next time he's over, he'll love it. Great job!
@tunecat Mar 2022
Well for sure I was gonna like this — spoken word and atmosphere . And cats !! No that was just wishful thinking! Very rich text conjuring up putrid corpses extremely well. A bit silence of the lambs in its creepiness
@dugganensis Mar 2022
In the nascent years of the internet as we now know it, there was a cartoon series floating around called Salad Fingers. This song is uncanny. I'm getting the same shiver-grins.
@fourzeroes Feb 2022
It's still very alarming. You see why I recoiled, locked this in a drawer for two years and then sent it to someone else to finish, right?
@adforperu Feb 2022
Woah, tapes must have been the only form of home recordings back in 2019 right?! ;) This is so cool; very trippy, very creepy. The effect-y sounds in @wobbiewobbit's voice are a very cool addition
@owl Feb 2022
Wow, so creepy! I love all the instrumental sounds and the spoken word delivery is perfect for the vivid and horrible lyrics.
@yarimurray Feb 2022
So creepy and so cool. Spanning the years - stoking our fears. Awesome!
@headfirstonly Feb 2022
This is a better science fiction movie than either of Ridley Scott's most recent efforts. Those relentless drums, retro 80s synths and ominous bass are the perfect accompaniment to Wobbie's story.
Sweet dreams, kids.
@frenchcricket Feb 2022
This has a really compelling nightmarish feel to it. It has a very Eastern European aesthetic to it, like I could imagine this over some stills from a Tarkovsky film. This was wonderful. Amazing how much of a cohesive piece it feels, considering its geographically and temporally discrete components.
@thedutchwidows Feb 2022
This is so good; so many great lines - the "grinding mucous mandibles drip" line is delicious - and the delivery is superb. I couldn't help but think of Hannibal Lecter with the "ac ac ac" bits - brilliantly unsettling. It all works really well; Sometime the best things just take time!
@wobbiewobbit Feb 2022
i think that is my cat Meepster scratching the window at some point???
@elesimo Feb 2022
Wow... 3 years in the making! Wobbie did such a wonderful job on the vocals, with the little noises, it's perfect! So good!
@richaaaay Feb 2022
This is wonderful. The words and vocal delivery set a perfect tone. The little floating ccccc, ac ac ac ac and hhhhh, etc were awesome. Plus the words were hauntingly visual. Musically everything set the stage for this fine piece, even if it took two years. It all fermented well...
@fonte Feb 2022
Freaking uber cool track. Does not sound at all like it spanned several years! Sounds like a super cool band jamming at 3 am at the end of studio session
@bachelorb Feb 2022
That synth let me know what direction this one was headed. I usually close my eyes and try to visualize the lyrics. I couldn’t with this one..... it scared the crap out of me!!! :D
Really nice job by everyone!
@zecoop Feb 2022
Whoa, that is very cool! It is kind of fun when tapes go across years. I think this one went across several? Very spook-k-k-ky and dark, and sounds very good! Well done everyone - this was a fun song to listen to!
**I also fixed the link to a FAWM server one

LOVING the dark feel here. The big reverb on drums, the synth bass, the organ chords, and the gothic vocals are amazing together. Can we get a lyric sheet? I'm so curious :D
Great collab!
@nancyrost Feb 2022
That synth track could have taken this collab in a lot of different directions - I could easily imagine a world in which this was a carnival or nostalgia song - but once that "ominous bass" was on there y'all really committed to the spooky vibes. Very cool sounds and excellent lyrics and performance!
@vomvorton Feb 2022
This is exciting! I have almost no memory of recording that synth track at all. So cool that it has returned two years later as this excellently spooky spoken-word piece! Great work from @wobbiewobbit, particularly love those ka-ka-ka-ka-ka horror sound FX, haha! Bass and drums sound great too!
