Not only did I lose track of the day, I lost track of this song too, which was complete (piano/voice) a week ago...I think I've used almost every basic blues cliche in here somewhere, but with a first line like that, what do you expect?
Flying Tadpole's Travelling Blues Band let out, but with leg irons on. (You thought it was a tam, admit it.)

Woke up this morning, thought it was Saturday
Woke up this morning, thought it was Saturday
Turns out it's Friday, so I got hell to pay
Friday is the day I know I get left up the creek
Friday is the day I know I'm well and truly up the creek
Monday through Thursday, done nothing at all the week
Well, I gotta do a week's work in one day
Well, I gotta do a week's work in one day
And all I wanna do is go out and play
All this working pressure just leaves me dead
All this working pressure just leaves me dead
Lost all track of time, so might as well go back to bed.

Haha ! Got confuse at first because friday is usually cooler than the other days (casual friday, weekend in approach and all). But I gess there is no TGIF for this character.
Nice piano and blues singing as always. The light guitar is nice too. It is less repetitive as the usual blues guitar. Let me feel like it still wanted to fool around instead of getting to work.

Wow, Tim - So glad I'm finally finding your music. though you may have timed out by now. This is such a great way to describe having the week's procrastination catch up. Feels like a lesson in how to write and play and sing the blues.....Found myself singing over the instrumental section. Up the creek again this week, Up the creek again this week. Up the creek again this week. Whoooo.

Hmmmm, this sounds like my third week of FAWM! I love me some Tadpole Blues!! Good work on those leg irons, but the piano was still better ;)

Love the piano in this blues song...It was it dancing along with the guitar. NICE!
@cindyrella Feb 2022
I love me some good old fashioned blues! Great song!
@mikeb Feb 2022
Piano as the main rhythm instrument for a blues song is something not heard enough of. Good job. But wait ... it's only Wednesday!

Clichés wouldn't be clichés if they weren't so good. And this is a great addition to the FTTBB repertoire!
It's put a huge grin on my face. Thank you for brightening my day... whichever day it is. ;-)

A truly fun piano blues with some wonderful "early 60s" lead guitar work. After fifty years of "three chords and the truth" I am trying to actually learn to play the guitar. The piano? I might have to leave that for another lifetime. :-)
