Here I was, trying to get a mysterious and ironic music, and it became nearly contry folk to my greatest surprise. And now it's stuck. It's like the song said stop don't try any further this is my music.
Well let it fly.

— English translation below —
Refrain
Si tu aimes jouer aux chats
Qui croient devoir être des lions
Tu peux défier celui-là
Mais fais tout de même attention
Ces anciennes accoutumances
Au fait du prince, aux vieux empires
Ont parfois plus de persistance
Qu’on aimerait pouvoir le dire
Il a encore trop de mal
À consentir à la douceur
Il croit au pouvoir viscéral
Qu’on a en suscitant la peur
Refrain

In its munificent orchards
Lounges an antiquity
No longer kingpin or tyrant
He is now disarmed
He still has too much trouble
To consent to gentleness
He believes in the visceral power
Crafted with fear
Yet as he whines
As a baby we see that he is
Already no longer ashamed to cry
On his former prestance
Chorus :
Where are the splendors of the palace
And the opulence of my glory
The good right that I arrogated to myself
Is it no more than an old story?
He is bitter when he morns
On his ancestral preponderance
And he finds abnormal and cowardly
That he has been deprived of his power
What he lacks most
Are the symbols, the golds
The deference and then the words
That he did not notice then
He is quickly outraged
on many chapters: the rank
The outdated protocols
The choice of words and clothing
Refrain
If you like to play cats
Who think they should be lions
You can challenge this one
But still be careful
These old habits
To the prince's deed, to old empires
Are sometimes more persistent
Than one would like to admit
He still has too much trouble
To consent to gentleness
He believes in the visceral power
Crafted with fear
Refrain
In its munificent orchards
Lounges an antiquity
No longer kingpin or tyrant
He is now disarmed
He is bitter when he morns
On his ancestral preponderance
And he finds abnormal and cowardly
That he has been deprived of his power
Finally free of their grip
The nation seems ungrateful to them
When their hold fades
Thus go the old autocrats

I love the chord progression and your strumming, and how your voice dances, weaves, and tumbles over them. I was looking forward to the harmonica, and I sure did love it - emotionally, it fit what you did with the guitar and vocal.
And I found the English lyrics compelling and timely.

Love to listen stories when I don't understand a word :)
But I like how French sounds so I listen fluidly.
Nice harmonica bends wrapped it together in a great way

Bravo.

Si seulement je comprendait Français... its been too long I've learned French so I'm happy that you attached the English translation. This language brings some special vibe to a nice singer songwriting song. Almost poetic and hard to translate. The harmonica is a nice addition. #tit4tat

#tit4tat Yeah maybe just into folk , but i think its very singer/songwriter. Whatever! The issue is it is a really nice song that rolls along very well! Was surprised by the harmonica but in a good way i love it! Very big and interesting lyric. I always test my french by trying out without translation but your interesting vocabulary defeated me many times!

Bravo.

Nice groove, and the portrayal of the tyrants as powerless whiny babies really comes through, (if I did interpret the translation correctly)

Merci :)
