Feb 2022 rough-demo girl-with-ukulele lo-fi
Outdoor Ukulele with low G
Recorded on my iPad from a semi-reclined position, for reasons explained in “Left Ankle Blues.”* If I hope to finish FAWM with 14 solo recordings this year, some will have to be decidedly lo-fi productions.

Lullaby for a Lover
©️2022 words and music by Sharon Stepler
Come, my love
Rest by my side
Let me [ease your worried mind
The stars above
[Will be your guide
As you leave the day behind
The night wind
Sings a lonely song
But there is nothing to fear
I will hold you
Hold you through the night
‘Til the darkness disappears
Come, my love
Lay your burdens down
Let me smooth your troubled brow
The road’s been rough
Your thoughts are spinning ‘round
Let them be still for now
The night wind
Sings a lonely song
But there is nothing to fear
I will hold you
Hold you through the night
‘Til the darkness disappears
Come, my love
Fall into my embrace
My arms are safe and warm
Love is enough
To bless this place
And give respite from the storm
The night wind
Sings a lonely song
But there is nothing to fear
I will hold you
Hold you through the night
‘Til the darkness disappears

So calm and reassuring. This song is a balm. The lyrical flow is superb; big feelings and big promises expressed simply and eloquently. Just like the lullabies of old.

I really love adult lullabies and this is a gorgeous one! I love the images in the lyrics and the supportive caring message. Lovely melody!

Nice write: the vocal and uke are calming and peaceful, exactly as the lyric.

I hope your pain isn't too bad. It's amazing to me to write and sing such a beautiful song, with any pain! So tender and loving!
