If you take a visit, to a land so dark
Take care not to smile, not a soul does
Only do they toil, with much work
Lest their lives become more miserable
For if a smile is reached, she will take notice
For there she dwells, with spyglasses on hand
Looking for all those who deviate, just for a moment
Hands always ready to dispense punishment
Inside the dark castle, perched on the highest hill
Of the long halls and corridors, bleakest of all in the land
Containing many ghosts, of those long gone
Where the dead never leave
There she sits, high above most of us
Yet still below most of them
There she is, the Baroness
The one who is feared by all
Her heels clack, as her dress swishes
Her palms bleed, nails dig so hard
Face always a sneer, hair in a tight bun
Her heart a shriveled and bitter fruit
She only smiles, when the blood flies
A cold woman, much as a statue
Her arms speak different, enthusiastic in their actions
If she wasn't happy no one could be
There she sits, high above most of us
Yet still below most of them
There she is, the Baroness
The one who is feared by all
How much she scorns, those above her
The countesses, duchesses, princesses and queens
She even levels her glare, upon the heavens
As above, so below she hates the people
She doesn't even neglect hell
How she is surrounded, by those she wronged
How white they are, how loud they moan and groan
Oh the graveyard she stands on, tall and proud
Head held high, spine straight, she is every inch a lady
There she sits, high above most of us
Yet still below most of them
There she is, the Baroness
The one who is feared by all
There she sits, high above most of us
Yet still below most of them
There she is, the Baroness
The one who is feared by all

Her heart a shriveled and bitter fruit
The descriptors are GREAT, you really envisioned this character and created a story. Wonderful write and so glad you have found so much inspiration in the Boat Names Challenge!!

A very interesting take indeed on the boat name challenge. I take it that this lyric is about the boat name Black Rose and perhaps it was a slave trader's ship. I love your vivid imagery in these lyrics. It's very powerful. Beautiful write!
