So, I found this skirmish late. I had been fiddling around in GarageBand, making samples, picking a bunch of sound profiles until I liked one and then looping them, figuring out how to split a track and move things around, stuff like that. I decided to add some brief lyrics to it, and then spent time fiddling with how to start and end the loops.
So this song is really pretty meta.
For the curious, I started with one of GB's drummers (and actually kept her this time; usually I start with one of its drummers so I can hear the beat--who can hear that metronome while playing anything anyway?--and then end up making my own drum track and deleting the starter), my acoustic bass, my Cox guitar, my Fender guitar, and the small steel tongue drum.
Take time to play every day
Goof off, have fun, fiddle around
Try new things, have escapades
It’s the best way to learn I’ve found

Escapades definitely sound like fun. I know all about fiddling around with Garageband! The music is very playful, so it's perfect as is!.

Thanks for sharing your experiment. It is the best way to learn. Just keep mucking about until if makes some kind of sense.

Wish we lived closer. I'd be over to play GarageBand with you. I'm trying to learn the same things right now, and trying new things is my modus operandi! So, I really love your message, and your happy little song!

Often a good idea just to throw it all up in the air. Fun song, Deirdre!
