We are away until the end of Feburary so will be uploading phone demos for the rest of the month!
I think many of us have struggled with maintaining our equilibrium, and tbh just feeling OK with everything, the last couple of years particularly. Sometimes life gets really overwhelming.
The darkness can try and overcome us. Sometimes we need to take time to breathe and break through to the light...
Emotions cascade in an ocean of black
Sinking beneath will she ever come back
To who she once was, the girl with the smile
Embracing the future, all others beguiled
Just breath little one
All will turn out well
These moments will pass
The storms will surely quell
The silence of screaming resound in her head
Reality wailing with language unsaid
Will anyone see the pain in her soul
Block out the chaos of this modern world
Just breath little one
All will turn out well
These moments will pass
The storms will surely quell
Reaching the surface her hands break the ice
She weaves through the darkness to flickers of light
The ocean unsteady but the storms now will pass
As they wash clean away the wounds of her past
Just breath little one
All will turn out well
These moments will pass
The storms will surely quell
Let the feeling come
Let the healing come
Just breath little one
All will turn out well

Great contrast between the rapid guitar picking and the more measured vocal delivery. Mysterious and mystical lyrics. THUMBS UP

Wait what this is a demo recorded on phone? Stuff is getting better. This lyrics are sooo good and I love how the guitar picks up the phrasing. And the vibrato control on the vocals. You perform sooo well #tit4tat

Excellent guitar work once again! Those rolling arpeggios are so satisfying. And that vocal jump into the chorus is just lovely. A comforting and hopeful and nurturing song.
@stephenwordsmith Mar 2022
I like the thrum and cascade of the guitarwork Keeps the piece interesting and gives it a compelling pace from start to finish. The vocals are quite a contrast as they soar in short bursts over the tight lines, but the elements compliment each other well.
The chorus, especially the titular hook, remains gentle and soothing despite the relatively frenetic backing, and I found that reassuring.

Nice riff to open it up - the playing is great and there is a nice contrapuntal feel to it - and then you change it up on ‘all will turn out well’ as the rhythm moves in unison which is a lovely musical way to emphasise the line. This is great as it is but it’s a really strong song that I love to hear with fuller instrumentation.
@danvaillancourt Mar 2022
Great guitar playing and I like how the vocal follows the movement in the accompaniment. Nice contrast between quick/long between sections. Just breath. yes.
@wacha Mar 2022
This is a truly beautiful both lyrically and in the performance. I love the message and they way you deliver it makes it feel even more impactful. Very nice work!

The beauty of this shines through in even in an iPhone recording. The vocals are so beautifully done, and the guitar is really clear and clean. Love the line "The silence of screaming resound in her head".

Something about the verse guitar spoke to me: the quick ascents in the guitar part before falling back to the picked chord. Like one step forward, two steps back...that terrible feeling when cycling in mental illness.

Ahhhh, I so get where you're coming from on this, and I so appreciate the sentiments that you express. These have been very challenging times, indeed, and there has been so much struggle and suffering everywhere we turn. This song is a lovely bit of consolation that I'm sure a lot of us can find comfort and wisdom in. I enjoyed the uplifting melody, and the contrast in tone between the minor verses and major choruses on guitar is very fitting!

Love the guitar part! (and also the melodic lift at the end of the A part, which leads really well into the chorus both in terms of music and sentiment). The comfort of the chorus is a lovely balance to the angst of the verses. Nicely done.
@conuladh Feb 2022
Wow, Love it. The opening pace of the (beautifully played) guitar contrasting and blending with easy (beautifully sung) lyrics. Great message ... I enjoyed to harmony coming in towards the end.

Gotta say, I love phone recordings. They work surprising well. All the essential ingredients are there. The guitar playing/composition is incredible. Love it. Played with conviction and precision. Lyrically, great use of metaphors. Always a treat to listen to your singing and harmonies.
@eas3637 Feb 2022
The way your voice floats from "all others beguiled" straight up to the chorus - fantastic! You've crafted a beautiful song of hope. I love "reaching the surface her hands break the ice..." - such a powerful image. I also love the way the harmonies come in at the end to emphasize the message. Now I have to get caught up on all these other new songs of yours! :)
@stephentanner Feb 2022
Nice one. Feels honest and beautifully written. Guitar is great. What more is there to say, another belter.
@apolez3 Feb 2022
Just beautiful: everything works ~ would love a collab with you: me writing the lyrics;
@celineellis Feb 2022
Really like this one! Great guitar work and those quick chord changes are so so good. Lyrics rest well on top of it without being too busy too. Noice!!
@tseaver Feb 2022
Nice write: the contrast between the lullaby-like lyric and the urgent, almost anxious guitar sets up the song well.
@andygriff Feb 2022
Sliiiiick guitar! The retreat is off to a good start then... "reality wailing with language unsaid" - neat line!
@crisp1 Feb 2022
Very nice guitar playing and beautiful vocals, as always. The words read almost like a lullaby, but the music is too fast for one -- and I like it all the more for that. Another good one from you two!
