The Jelly Factory: Organ
DJTJB: Keys/Production
Richaaay: Guitar/Vocals/Lyrics
Nahlej: Bass/Production/bad backing vocals
I sent some really rough bass and scratch drums to rich who laid down that sweet guitar. then craig played that beautiful organ and DJTJB threw down his signature mood adjusters (really loved his sounds on this one...and anything he does) then i forced rich at gunpoint to write and sing to it as i thought his voice would be a good fit. i threw in some oohs and ahhs (badly) and did a mix, and here she is,"Geraldine"! super fun with you fellas as always!
oh, rich, i really like the stadium clips you sent btw!
Geraldine
Summer days,
It’d been a wild year
He’d bought season tickets
But she disappeared
Left him there
In bleacher seats
Surrounded by
A sea of peeps
He didn’t know
He’d be alone
In a stadium
Sized superdome
Lovers cuddle
In their chairs
Ballpark vendors
Sell their wares
Fans cheer
Her beloved team
His heart screams
For Geraldine
Rivals rally
To the lead
Hometown prospects
Slowly bleed
Fans are quiet
Outcome foreseen
His heart screams
For Geraldine
The game is over
Opponents stunned
Closing seconds
They got outgunned
To their cars
Fans stream
While his heart
Screams Geraldine

A whole lot of fun in this mix up. I know a bit about production, now that I have used GarageBand, but your skills here are so monumental. It is seamless, fun, and interesting. I am glad to hear it. #tit4tat

OK, this is total Phish. I know Rich says they came a bit after his heyday, but even the vocal sounds like Trey Anastasio. It has the same tone, playfulness and melodic contours. Seriously, if you told me this was something they came up with while doing a sound check I would totally believe it.
Great bass, had me grooving right away. I need to write more like that. I tend to take music too seriously, but sometimes it's good to just listen to a piece that makes you move, you know what I mean? The organ is sweet. It's the perfect tone, lush with a nice scratchy edge, and it sways with the percussion perfectly. Such a well written track.
Sorry, Rich, I enjoyed the other parts of the song so much that I barely had any attention for your guitars! Had to listen again to hear the atmospheric lead during the interludes. Nice job of filling the gap without trying to do too much.
Outstanding work, everyone!

Nice organ sound, from the first moment I was at, well I was at a hockey rink, but such was my childhood. I adjusted.
Feels like a soul brother of 'The Distance'. I don't know if the tease was intentional but I hear a sort of kinship between the synth sounds between the two. It's fun to think of this as a further explication of that story. Really like "hometown prospects slowly bleed", there's so much depth there.
@wobbiewobbit Mar 2022
oooh so much funk. the organ grabbed me and the bass hooked me. great vocals, wow i said that before the wow bits came in. i like the more swirly backing on the verses. this just rolls along so nicely and i agree it oozes cool
@tukayandryan Mar 2022
This is overflowing with cooolll. Organs, guitar and bass have such a groove. Great vocals @richaaaay! Fab production on this. Bloomin brilliant collab. You guys are awesome!

@wolfkier Mar 2022
I came to hit back at Nahlej, for all the love this February, but I get and all star cast and get to #tit4tat @richaaaay into the bargain.
This is funk is so super punchy it hurts! Very very cool collab. Excellent! :)
@danvaillancourt Mar 2022
Wow! Sweet soulful reggae groove and love the organ throughout. Nice lead guitar. Fun collab!
@nadine Mar 2022
I have no idea about baseball but I guess it's fair enough to understand the magic of sport events and stadium cheering. The bass is damn groove, I like the lead guitar, and these gunky organs are just dope. Super neat production of a kind of arrangement I'd never create or expect.Major props to all involved. #tit4tat
@sw1n3flu Feb 2022
these lyrics are superb, very relatable and my kind of yearning .. no cheese whatsoever!
The potato chips breakdown :D :D :D
And hell yeah to that bass, it's funked up to the max.
GERALDIIIIIIINNNEEE!!!! OW!
@zecoop Feb 2022
All stars!! What an amazing grove that brings in so many seemingly disparate parts. But everything melts together and it truly shines. There is a ton of emotion coming from every direction… the organ, the longing vocal call… this was a joy to listen to!
@anaezia Feb 2022
This is so groovy. I felt like I was in front of rocking band fangirling and moving around. wohoooooo
@katestantonsings Feb 2022
Can't go wrong with this group of artists. Some standouts are the organ and guitar work for sure! You guys should form an indie funk FAWM band like Jamiroquai meets Earth Wind and Fire from the Magic City Hippies.
@juoppis Feb 2022
What a jam! It's almost live-like, really dig the growls and boogie here. Just beautiful.
@cts Feb 2022
Hot diggity dang-dang!! Fellas, this one is special. I really wish we could have jammed this one live. Seriously. I believe it would have been epic. However, I think some of that spirit is present here. Why haven't we put out an album? Perhaps we need to make more tunes? 50/90 will be here before you know it, right?
@oaksnprairie Feb 2022
What can I say? You guys are gooood!
@rshakesp Feb 2022
This is fab! Really funks along, I love the idea of not having a chorus per se just a really solid hook at the end of the verse. Great sympathetic playing by all that means everything blends to a coherent whole. Top work!
@andrea Feb 2022
Oh my gosh, this is as good as I expected. As @dragondreams stated 'A FAWM supergroup collab' - indeed. Can't really comment on the technical aspects, but I can say it sounds amazing. A fantastic collaboration of sounds. And the vocals -oh yeah! I totally love how you sing/scream 'Geraldine'! Totally bad a$$!
@dragondreams Feb 2022
Oh wow! A FAWM supergroup collab.
This drips funk. So many pieces of ear candy to drool over! I had to listen a few times to wrap my head round the wicked production that's going on. So much tasty jelly in one place.
Awesome collab, people. :-)
@serene123 Feb 2022
Ooh this is fabulous collab! Made me smile! Love everything about it from the funky bass and organ to the overall production but mostly I love Rich's vocals.. total class act!
@davidtaro Feb 2022
Damn, you guys!! So many of my favourite things all in one place. The organ and that bluesy overdriven guitar really grabs you from the get go. The underlying groove and all those delicious synth textures keep you rooted in place. I'm glad you forced Rich into providing the vocal (jeez, is that Rich with the screams?!). Love the samples, and then mixed in with Rich's 'got any potato chips' bit... lol. This is definitely the Potato Chip FAWM. You guys are all ridiculous talents, well done!
@jerrypettit Feb 2022
Awesome--of course I love the "songwriting" skills, lyrics, etc.
But I REALLY get a kick out of the arranging/production skills on display. This was just fantastic, gang!
@gm7 Feb 2022
Now we are takin" funk with that back groove. Love that funky guitar and the bass and those quiet sections and then "bang' here comes more funk.
@splittybooms Feb 2022
Saw these names and already knew.
Grooving right off bat (heh, "off bat"...get it...because of...the the baseball...and...the bat...and...heh)
Bass and organ groove? I'm in.
Really digging the little hits on bass/organ/drums - subtle at 1:06.
The synths give a sense of a baseball ascending into the atmosphere well after it exited the park, especially with the vocal shouts at 1:56 - 2:04! Love that. And that simple but crucial motif at :38 and later in the song, too - fills the sound out nicely.
Funky guitar mixed in during some parts give a full funk package.
Man the bass and organ are dancing together.
Fun mix of heartbreak and the sights and sounds of being at a baseball game with the lyrics and the voiceovers.
Great vocal style on top of all this funk; makes the whole thing fun and groovy.
I'm sure everyone will use the word "home run" to describe this collab, so I'll use HUMDINGER instead.
@billwhite51 Feb 2022
this is some tough-ass funk with a lot of heart at the center. great job you guys, reminding us that in every crowd, no matter how joyous the occasion, there are also those who are suffering.
