It was the next morning when I discovered the “walk” skirmish. I immediately saw that this was a word that would meet the week 3 challenge of a title word that has multiple meanings.
Writing for an hour got me lyrics. I think I hear a Cars/Ric Ocasek influence in the lyrics I wrote.
/1/
It starts to feel
Dull
Flat
Been there
Done that
It’s harder than it should
To get to anything good
Right now
/2/
You start to feel
Forgotten
Unwanted
They’re taking you for granted
Won’t say it to your face
Feel like you’re out of place
/Chorus/
That’s a sign it’s time to walk
Walk away
Walk
Walk away
Walk
Hey
Look at that
/3/
It starts to feel
Cold
Harsh
Like a blizzard in March
Afraid to look too close
Any minute you might see a ghost
Ooh there it goes
/4/
You start to feel
Weary
Losing hope
Looking for a new way to cope
Dreaming of a place far away
Everything around fades to gray
/Chorus/
/Bridge/
Broken but you don’t want to see it
Looking makes you feel defeated
Over but you don’t want to say it
Pessimistic disillusioned and jaded
/Chorus/
/Chorus/
/Chorus/

Demo added April 19. Slight additions to the lyrics. As close to Ric Ocasek in style as I could manage.

Aaah the feeling of "I've had enough" almost becoming a chronic condition.. time to walk that's for sure! It's cool how the problem is described in the verses and the chorus presents the solution. The bridge is like an intensified motivational self-talk that actually thematically bridges those two. Well done!

Sounds singable in my mind. Would love to hear it.

I love "Hey, look at that" to end the chorus! Please do lean into the Ric Ocasek vibe when you ultimately sing this!
