I wrote this initially as a piano song with two different end points - the first an enigmatic Amsus2, the second with a repeated line with descending chords. I asked for someone to provide a vocal with a lyric and Cyndy provided these great words and therefore gave it the title. I extended the song with a bit of an electric phasey solo in the middle and a bit of violin background at the end.
Buckle up
Hold on tight
We're gonna fall apart in pieces tonight
Pucker up
Put your fight-face on
This won't take too long
We'll go howling with the heebie-jeebies
We'll go dancing with the dogs
Head up
Shoulders back
Don't betray the confidence you lack
Step up
Pirouette
This will hurt like heck
We'll go hunting with the corporate henchmen
We'll go dancing with the dolls
The dogs. The dolls. The dogs. The dolls.

This is trippy, even surreal, with the stoic delivery of the prophecy of the howling to be had; the flowery sincere piano and violins; the jazz-lounge rhythm section. I adore the descending sections, all of them, and love that you gave the electric piano such a spotlight.

Love the music here, including the combination of instruments. Lyrically "We're gonna fall apart in pieces tonight" is genius (and any time you can work "heebie-jeebies" into a song it's worth doing so. Also "Don't betray the confidence you lack" -- yes! And I love the melody/chords on "this will hurt like heck."

I like the piano. It's just hit the solo line. Nice. "Don't betray the confidence you lack" - I'm guessing that is true for so many. If only we could see inside, we may show more love to each other.

Great images, chord progressions are wonderful (especially that C to Ab - very Beatlesque!) Still not sure, though, if this is about a night out with friends, or bringing the dog to the vet...

You had me at the intro :) love the quirky lyrics. I could definitely hear acoustic on this. I really dig the Bass playing. Excellent vocal delivery as well. The dogsā¦ the dolls bit reminds me of something I would write lol. Nice fender Rhodes solo. The brushes in drumming are really convincing as well. I think they are samples but wow only a very few could ever tell. (I am a drummer)
