The theme of this week's "Seasons of the Ukulele" on the Ukulele Underground Forum is the Seven Deadly Sins.
This one is my response to that prompt.
(G) They say pride comes before a fall
But (D) pride in your kids isn't (G) pride at all
(C) Sins can be (G) virtues if the (D) motivation's (G) right
Wanting more for the poor is hardly greed
When the rich have more than they'll ever need
Sins can be virtues if the motivation's right
Righteous wrath at inequality
Is surely no immorality
Sins can be virtues if the motivation's right
Envy of those who are doing good
Means you could join them, you know you should
Sins can be virtues if the motivation's right
(C) Sins can be virtues if the (G) motivation's right
(D) Actions churches condemn
Are often (G) part of life's delights
(C) Things that they condone
Are often at(G)tacks on human rights
(D) Sins can be virtues if the (C)moti(D)vation's (G) right
Is it gluttony to want to feed
The millions in the world suffering need
Sins can be virtues if the motivation's right
Lust to satisfy your partner's desire
Keeps many relationships a burning fire
Sins can be virtues if the motivation's right
Is it laziness to not jump the gun
And weigh all the options before choosing one
Sins can be virtues if the motivation's right
REPEAT BRIDGE

I just love the way you turned all of the "deadly sins" on their heads. Fun to watch you play and sing it, too. You know I agree with every word! Also, like the hat!

That’s so cool, I’m also writing a song about sin right now, but more Americana style :) really enjoyed it and the video too!
