Decided to write tonight and this is what came out… I had 5 other ideas in the cue but this was brand new 2 hours ago… go figure. Anyway not for the prog album but I like the digression.
Temporary housing
V1
When I take ride on the rail
I’m looking for a way to get away
Captured by your smile
I’m looking for a mile
Looking for that mile marker
That tells me how close I am to home
Cause I’m at home with you
By scared by how I feel
Chorus
Just a vacation
From reality
But I think this is where
I wanna be
Just temporary housing
V2
Like a Real-estate buyer
In search of the perfect home
But your leaving town cryin
Cause you going it alone
Looking for that mile marker
That tells me how close I am to home
Cause I’m at home with you
By scared by how I feel
Chorus

I never tried to write a concept album, but I guess that it is very hard to stick to one topic for weeks and months. Doing something else could be great. And this is definately a strong song. Such a cool groove, great playing (I love the drums, the guitar solo and acoustic guitar!). Chad you just figured out how to use bathroom reverb in a very creative way. Vocals are also quite good here, some falsetto parts may have to be re-recorded but it's mostly your range. Yes.

You had me at John Mayer-ish. Great groove, wonderful delivery, solid theme and wicked solo. Nice.

This is beautiful from the start. I like the guitar interplay and how it moves forward nicely. The melody is really nice, as is the use of reverb on the voice for a particular atmosphere. Those leads are just soaring. Excellent song! Well done.

Great acoustic tone. Love the lyrics and guitar solo. Great stuff loved it.

You got some really nice guitar and bass layers building this up. The lyrics play really nicely into that mood. Killer “make it sound easy” solo outro

Enjoying this - I particularly like the seperation in the intrusmental parts - from a rhythmic and melodic variety perspective. The tone change in the chorus is lovely. Great solo after the second chorus - builds nicely in an upward arc with some fascinating rhythmic changes. Really good for a quick build!
