Dedicated to a particular author we know and love. If you know her, you know exactly whom I am singing about.
Recorded in standard tuning on the Rainsong.
Am Em Am
Let me tell you a secret I know
Am G Am
Of a writer who's work's most profound.
Am Em Am
And the secret that nobody knows,
C G Am
Is her Muse lives just under the ground.
The tarantulas migrate as one
from Diablo down to the plain,
but this is no mere walk in the sun
no they seek a peculiar brain.
F C
And the spiders dance for their queen.
F G
And they whisper the secrets of Fae,
F C
And of shallowings just out of reach,
G Em Am
and of ancient mysterious ways.
The spiders see through the veil,
Tell stories of how thing could be
Together they spin a tall tale,
That only the writer can see.
So she writes of Zombies and more,
heroines dressed like a hare,
The Fae and their terrible lore
Of cryptids and where they might lair,
-chorus-
And fame it comes at a cost,
the secret she's forced to deny,
lest the muse forever by lost,
to the twinkle of arachnid eyes.
-chorus-
And the spiders dance... for their Queen.

Yes, obvious to some of us and we know which book the spiders are in. I love the way you have mixed content from the books with her own life. Although no song about her full life could ever be believed by those who don’t know her.

"The twinkle of arachnid eyes" is a terrifying line, and now I need to figure out who the author is.
