Written by my great-grandmother Ruth C. Weaver, 1937. I took liberties with the melody.
Knew when I met you that I was wrong
To think I'd ever been in love before
And as we drifted happily along
I thought that I won't ask but one thing more
I gave you everything I had to give
But everything was not enough for you
My most important thing was just to live
And prove to you my love was ever true
For years through smiles and tears our love held sway
For years I know the comfort of your arms
Ah, then you wandered gradually away
You succombed to someone else's charms
We two seemed all that mattered in my world so small
I never dreamed 'til shattered how my world could fall...

This is great. Getting major Neil Young vibes from the vocal/melody. Great backing. Love the lo-fi feel to the guitar

Love the sound of the CBG and that strong rhythm that make the heartbroken lyrics go down easy. Ooh, that twangy solo!

Wow, 1937. Love is always the same, ain't it? For all eternity, somebody wanders off and somebody's world is shattered.
And we're all endlessly fascinated by this.
This is really fun. Love the slide.
