Written for the public domain poetry challenge. I was paired with A Jelly-fish by Marianne Moore (https://poets.org/anthology/poems-your-poetry-project-public-domain). I had no idea this poem existed until it showed up. I love the image of a jellyfish being an amber colored amethyst.
Visible, invisible,
A fluctuating charm,
An amber-colored amethyst
Inhabits it; your arm
Approaches, and
It opens and
It closes;
You have meant
To catch it,
And it shrivels;
You abandon
Your intent—
It opens, and it
Closes and you
Reach for it—
The blue
Surrounding it
Grows cloudy, and
It floats away
From you.

Nice work on this! Ramones meets Billy Bragg...

Love the grungy crunchy sound of the guitar on this.
