Feb 2022 post-punk
So, Putin just invaded Ukraine.
We’ve been waiting for the end of the world
We can see it coming now
It’s no fun waiting for the end of the world
But it’s coming now
Time once was when we had the whole wide world
Endless time and not much to do
All that’s gone and there’s not much left to say
It’ll be here soon
Get on your horse and ride if you want to
Get on your horse and ride away
Nobody here’s a coward that I know
Even though that’s what they say
If you could to it again, would you do it the same
Would you do it differently
It’s no fun waiting for the end of the world
But it’s coming now
Get on your horse and ride if you want to
Get on your horse and ride away
Nobody here’s a coward that I know
Even though that’s what they say

Still say this is one of my favorites of the season.

Very apocalyptic, which I think is very fitting for the genre. Unfortunately, apocalyptic visions are now very much a reality... I dig the groove of this. It's at the same time upbeat and sad.

No, he's just helping to defend those new independent regions. ;)
Lovely vocals, especially in the chorus.
I'm liking the dark lyrics coupled with the uplifting rokkin.
Great headphone mix.
Really lovely tune.

Driving beat, lyrics that bite, suspended chords that sound like there's still something to hope for. It's a killer combination.
And that might be one of my favorite guitar solos of yours so far.

This type of tune exists in several different genres, I'm a sucker for it, and you do it so well- complex chords and a constrained melody in the verse, which makes resolving to the anthemic vocal over huge power chords so satisfying in the chorus.
Where any of us would ride is entirely another question, and brings to mind the post apocalyptic maelstrom of The Texas Jerusalem Crossroads in more ways than one.. 'take two steps toward Texas tonight'

Anthem of the day. Soul stirring stuff.
