This is my response to the polysemy challenge. I wrote the song and heard it in my head as a cheesy 80s tune. Then I decided that maybe this would be the song I would use to play around with the looper that I got as a Christmas present (thank you @caitlin!). I’m not very smooth with the pedal yet, especially with removing layers, but it was fun experimenting!
It’s a Mystery
Verse 1
Every time I hold you, girl,
I get a shiver up and down my spine.
Nothin’ can hold back the electric waves
That flow from your body to mine.
Chorus
I can’t figure out why your figure does so much to me.
Ooooooh! It’s a mystery!
Verse 2
And every time my hand finds your skin
I have a feeling that I might lose control.
Yeah, I’ve gotta hand it to ya, babe,
When we touch, it really touches my soul.
Chorus
Verse 3
When you run your fingers through my hair,
It’s just a total frisson.
I’d run away with you, wherever you go.
You make me lose all my reason.
Chorus
Bridge
(Spoken)
I remember the first time your hand grazed my wrist. I knew then and there that I was done for. There was something magical, or electrical, or chemical — maybe electro-chemical — in that touch. And I knew that I wanted more. Moreover, I saw that I had the same effect on you. So let’s keep that electro-chemical glory going, shall we?
Chorus x 2

Your theatricality is killing me! I’m loving every minute of this!

You’re really getting the hang of that looper! You have to play this live at one of our open mics - such fun!!
