Skirmish prompt: "Walk"
Take a Walk
On a summer afternoon
I went walking in the woods
somehow I stopped thinking about
my troubles and my work
I looked about and saw the trees,
and birds that were flying
for every green and living thing
there was something that was dying
Take a step step step
you don’t know what you may find,
you may grow grow grow
in the presence of your mind
Don’t sit and think and talk—take a walk
I’d never noticed life and death
were so intertwined
like the in and out of breath
their energy combined
For even the passing things
had roles that they played,
Tiny seedlings sprouted up
From the trunks that had decayed
Take a step step step
you don’t know what you may find,
you may grow grow grow
in the presence of your mind,
Don’t sit and think and talk—take a walk

Turning the seen signs of death and decay in nature into something positive is quite a feat in itself. I like the way the chorus repeats "grow" as it links the walker to all those living things he sees. Catchy tune too.

Joyful vibes! Sounds almost like an advertisment song on the radio, but a good one, not annoying at all (like most of them are). I can relate to this, in the woods, thoughts easily wonder from everyday troubles and work related things to themes of life and death, and it's somehow nourishing, this transformation.

High energy motivational song. Good advice, good skirmish.

Cracking - that 'step step step' chorus is really good. This feels like a gentle encouragement to get out do some exercise; it's not exhorting me to get outdoors, but is giving me a friendly nudge. Very nice!

Thats a fun tune with a great message. The repeated line in the chorus are a nice cheery thing. Well done, good write.

A walk as an existential examination of life and death. Fine write!
Interesting mix between the happy sounding tune and profound meditations such as:
"for every green and living thing
there was something that was dying"

Now that's what I call good advertising. :-)
It oozes life-affirming optimism. The verse with the sprouting seedlings it great.
