Don’t wait for the video to load as we could be here all night!!
I had an idea I was going to write a sing using the chords if another sing ? It’s in one of the challenges) and had prepared by trying to disnload the midi version of abc and then realising I couldn’t upload tgat into iOS garage band . These days it’s so cold and stuff that right now I’m in bed dint gmgave access to the laptop - never fully set the studio up - but why oh why did I have to dismantle it??
Anyway long story shirt abc and ten have I told you lately - one was too fast the other too slow gif the prompt ‘walk’ and I defaulted yo my usual technique at least for this FAWM of writing to a digital beat that I created and recorded into screen record as its quick and uploads into YouTube.
Sorry didn’t push boat out further. Today was a funeral. A funeral that kind of went full circle - a family friend who I knew when I was a child and I got tgat feeling if the cycle of life. He’d done a tribute at my dads funeral and this was the church where my mums funeral was held. There were people there who knew my family longer than me. I was grateful to have this experience ( I’m by nature a traveller never expected to be back in my hometown at my age) and yet daunted and humbled by what it showed me about life
Set the pace don’t race
Be aware of the share of the road before you
Don’t ignore you. ( yeah you!)
There is the stretch of the distance spreading out - its all for you ( yeah you)
Heading out today
Well the weather’s fine
Heading out ok
There’ll never be a better time
Time
That’s right
Time it’s the only gift you’ve got
I adore you
Yeah you
Come with it leave without it
But now it’s more you - yeah you
Lasting impressions no wasted words
To walk is to dream with the sky and the birds
Witnesses to this glory
The revelation of earth
Feet on it - motion with momentum
Cycles of birth!
It’s at an end yeah but it’s just going to start
Learn that in your pace - keep striding
Setting out coming home we all do both
But the journey is one we all go through
Yeah you
Yeah you
We all yearn to tell others what it’s about
This walking these steps these paths this route
But we can’t
We wring our hands with the frustration of not getting our point across
Then we sigh and set on out again
Irony yeah
Irony
Set on out
Set on out again
We buried you today
Sat in the church and thought of your blessing
That you’d been that we’d seen

That's a really great challenge to set yourself, personally I don't know how to write without music (maybe that should be my challenge). Sorry to hear about your friend, the lyrics you have are really nice and a touching tribute, well done
@axl Feb 2022
I did wait for the video. Love the groove. I sang your lyrics along in my head and it sounded really good. Deep thought-provoking lyrics.
@thedutchwidows Feb 2022
That's a lovely lyric; a lot of truth in there.
Sorry to hear about your friend; I had one of those funerals recently - an old family friend who'd known my parents since long before I was around, and the funeral was a strange mix of sadness at his passing, but also it was really nice to see people I'd not seen in 20 years or more. If only the circumstances had been happier. A strange day; hope yours was OK.

"...thought of your blessing
That you’d been that we’d seen"

i'm so sorry for your loss.
@musicsongwriter Feb 2022
Sorry for your loss. Thoughtful take on the prompt.
@jwhanberry Feb 2022
That's a very honest and in the moment lyric. Sorry about your friend. Hope you get your technical stuff sorted out. Looks like a bunch of alphabet soup. ;) Take care my friend.

Was hoping to see the video but says it’s still processing . Anyways enjoyed the lyrics they seem to be about something but are general enough for anyone to relate them to themselves somehow. Nice job.
@vainhirvain Feb 2022
The lyric has a rare peacefulness to it. Beautiful and mellow. Could work well as a poem too.
@vegansongs Feb 2022
Beautiful, thoughtful, inspiring. One foot in front of the other- In the moment.
@unknownbecky Feb 2022
So sorry to hear about your family's loss. What a lovely tribute at the end of the song. Some beautiful lyrics.
@ajna1960 Feb 2022
So sorry for your loss :( but it did blossom a lovely set of lyrics which are very emotive and feel of the feelings of the moment.
I found your liner notes very interesting too.

Wow, we were on a similar wavelength, you and I (Yes! You!) :-)
"To walk is to dream with the sky and the birds"
Right on, brother!
So sorry to hear the sad circumstances though in which this song was born. Treasure the memories.
