Feb 2022 alternative alt-rock one-take live-to-tape jeskola buzz
This strated off with some lyrics I wrote back on February 7th while at work. I played around with the chord progressions, sang it a couple of times & then just hit record. It's not perfect, but it is FAWM after all.
Still working on a few other things including a collab I need to get back to… Stay tuned for more ;D

==========
I could wax poetic
But life is too hectic
No time to satisfy the soul
Oh no
I could strum my guitar
But I'd take it too far
No one wants to rock'n'roll
Am I at the end of my road?
Or am I just getting old?
As I drive down my memory highway
Passing signs for the tourist traps I love
The lights flicker in the dinners
As the miles go by & I still have no cause
I could be back home
But the road is too long
No vehicle can go the distance
I could dream of you
But your memory has moved
No thoughts to haunt my conscience
Another roadside attraction awaits me
Another mundane distraction temps me
The road continues for miles
Making life an endless trial

The beat to me sounds like that little VW van put put putting along going from show to show traveling across country, and this is definitely a song written on the road, acknowledging the weariness.
Gotta love the vocal change from "Another roadside attraction"

@looprication described this perfectly for me... well almost, I didn't go to college :D but there was a house(if you could call it that) that at any given time 25-30 musicians would hang out in and pretty much all be doing their own thing or off playing in small groups, but once in a while someone would really start feeling it and let loose and everyone would just shut up and listen. This would of for sure been one of those moments. This might be one of my favorite lyrics of yours as well.

Great lyrics of life and a road and the journey of both, well performed and liked the solo to end it.

Overall enjoyable song. Really enjoyed the metaphor in the lyrics and their delivery.

Yes, the rhythm is really absorbing! I love the whole feeling of that one. The lyrics are really fitting. Also your voice and the solo! Just awesome.

The rhythm that started it off and faded in and stayed for the duration (if you listened for it) really sucked me in. This has the feeling of a late night jam session back in college, where someone's just doing his thing and slowly but surely everyone else in the room stops what they're doing to listen and it becomes the stuff of folklore. (remember that night when candle did that thing?)
Makes me think of those days. Thanks for the time machine trip. Do I have to return?

Loved it from that opening electric guitar progression! Enjoyed your vocals a lot! And oooo here comes a cool guitar solo! Your lyrics are perfect for the driving music! Love this,
Another roadside attraction awaits me
Another mundane distraction temps me
Nice work on this! Hats off to you!!
