a lyrical take on the Week 2 challenge.
doesn't have to be a reggae.
feel free to shorten at will.
or just bask in the glow of its universal message :)
one note
they said one note is all it takes
and maybe
one note
maybe one note is all there is
it’s just we
we hear pitches
intervals glitches/screeches
chords choirs
desires
when it’s all
one note
one note
one boat
they say one boat is all it takes
and maybe
one boat
maybe one boat is all there is
instead we
we do the breaststroke
and we do the drowning
the yachts the rafts
the bathyscaphes
when we’re
in the same boat (really)
one boat
one soul
they said one soul is all it takes
and maybe
one soul
maybe one soul is all there is
it’s just we
we say why me
my eye your tooth
our son their father
and the holy spirit
when we are just
one soul
one whole
one love
they said one love is all it takes
and maybe
one love
maybe one love is all there is
instead we
weigh affection
measure feeling
adore despise
no compromise
but it’s just
one love
one love
one note
one boat
one soul
one whole
one love

I really like how you have addressed some heavy issues in a pretty direct way, but you are able to do so without sounding confrontational. That is a skill. I would also like to hear what style you would choose for this. Very well done.

Nice take on the challenge, curious how this would sound
