these lyrics are the initial result of the random collaboration with @mandolinda . i had her come up with an idea, a concept that she'd like realized in lyrics. this is what she gave me:
Well last night I watched aProfessor Brian Cox talk about space exploration, asking the question, "How far can we explore'". I was amazed at some of the technology currently , how we are now planning to put people on Mars, for real. And looking at photos from the spacecraft showing Earth as a small pixel of blue light from outer space. We are small potatoes in the universe
and that yielded these lyrics. they differ from what @mandolinda ended up with, and if truth be told, i'm really only including them because the original ABCB ABCB rhyme scheme of the verse was such a bitch that i had to show it to the world. i never have a problem with people needing to change lyrics of mine when we are collaborating-- what they hear in their head is not what i heard in mine.
i say on my page i might post a version later in the month to show what i was thinking of, and even though there is no musical accompaniment here, i was just REALLY proud of that rhyme scheme and wanted to let it fly.
please, PLEASE go to our random collaboration page and listen to her realization. it is amazing and well worth the time if you haven't already heard it.

verse 1 LOOK
we've looked so longingly at sky
up where the stars shined
pointed our lens at every far
to find what we could find.
we've searched so far and wide for why
yet still we stumble blind
when will the sky fill in with stars
we cannot see behind?
verse 2 GO
we breached the void with timid steps
into the black with steely stare
and shown the world how much we know
as we conquered the air.
we've gone so far, never asked for help
as if we've done it on a dare
but just how far can we go
and how long til we get there?
CHORUS:
and the dinosaurs were stars
any aliens are stars
this noise is made of stars
our dreams are made of stars.
but how far can we go?
and what will we find?
it's all stars, it's all stars
it's all stars, it's all stars
-----------------> STELLAR SOLO
<<<<verse 3 RETURN>>>>>> nah.
BRIDGE:
it matters not what we define
we'll never know what lies inside
however far we may go
what's deep inside we'll never know
everywhere we look, it's all stars
as far as we can see, it's all stars.
DOUBLE CHORUS OUT
SECOND TIME THROUGH, COMBINE BRIDGE OVER CHORUS
