Feb 2022 rock
Is this thing on?
I recorded a snippet earlier this month and called it "Cloud Wyatt Cloud." Today I worked on it in earnest, completely forgetting what the title meant. I wrote an abstract set of lyrics to go with the odd title.
As I write this, I remember that it was a play on the words "Loud Quiet Loud," a phrase associated with Pixies, Nirvana and others who used volume dynamics (and guitar pedals) to great advantage. Ah, fickle memory.
From the unrealized album "Eight (Days Left) is Enough."
Cloud Wyatt
Sees his future
Hears the question
He won't buy it
Cloud Wyatt
Feels the earth move
Far too late now
To deny it
Cloud Wyatt
Counts the money
Sits this one out
Bribes the pilot
Cloud Wyatt
Won't return now
Say goodbye then
To Cloud Wyatt

Great to hear those guitars. Very nice chord progression. Vocal harmonies are on the money. Downloaded.

Ah, it'd be a grim February without something from you. Now it's grim but in a deeply satisfying, flannel-over-t-shirt kind of way. Lovely. I read this as being about the Musks and Bezoses (Bezoi?) of the world pissing off to space, but the lyrics are roomy enough for all sorts of meaning. You write good songs, Scott.

Scott can rock that is for sure. I look forward to hearing your song(s) every year. this is very full sounding. I only wish there were more. I particularly like the 4th verse, in which he Bribes the pilot. very clever. sounds great.

Great progression and the lyrics resolve nicely, and I love that contrast in the middle. Definitely feeling the 90s rock vibe there - fantastic track!

Oooo, that's exactly the songwriting formula I use!
Well, minus the "quiet"...
The vibe in this song is perfect. The trippy guitars and the driving drumbeat really push it along.
And, let's be honest, February wouldn't be February without hearing that voice. :D

Not what I was expecting, yet just what I needed. The little word trick of the title is delightful. There's a lot to like about this. The little back and forth of the acoustic and way overdriven and crunchy captures that couple years in MTV Unplugged music history very well in just a few chord progressions. I'm stomping along through the end in my Doc Martens looking for the last existing mosh pit.
@ericdistad Feb 2022
Love the progression and the reverby distortion! And the trippy lyric! And the parallel harmonies you do so well!
In short - I love it! Excellent work!

So good to hear you again! I'm glad you didn't remember what the title was about - these abstract lyrics are great. Ha, and then you DO do the 90s alt-rock dynamic. Wonderful slice.

Hearing a little REM in this song! Enjoying the listen!
