#dats247 2022 writing along with Danielle Ate the Sandwich. Prompt was postcard from the moon to the earth. This is more of a love letter.
I see you floating nearby
orbiting close, never touching
With weightless longing I rise
To give light to the dusk
Gravity holds us together and apart
Time and tide pass us by
The force of love for you pulls gently on my heart
but the breach is too wide
I’m the one who sees you
Look up and see me here
Its cold so far from your blue sky
The distance multiplies my fears
Gravity holds us together and apart
Time and tide pass us by
The force of love for you pulls gently on my heart
but the breach is too wide
tranquility Is quiet now
the mission launched back to you
with bits and pieces of my smile
So my existence could be proved
It’s so lonely at night
a quarter million miles away
Softly I pull on the tides
Put our connection on display
Gravity holds us together and apart
Time and tide pass us by
The force of love for you pulls gently on my heart
but the breach is too wide

Three cheers for DAtS... :)
Wonderful song with a lovely melody. I really like the lyrical scope and story here. Really nice song for that theme. Beautiful sounding uke too. I am such a beginner on mine. This was a great song - enjoyed everything about it.

I really love this lyric - especially the chorus. I like all all of the analogies and space references. Lovely music and melody!

This is a great idea! I love the chorus, and especially the phrase "gravity holds us together and apart". Good song overall.

I love the entire concept of a love song between the Earth and the Moon. This is great!

Oh I like this, lovely modernization of the Ships Passing In The Night concept and it's sung so very sweetly!
