Feb 2022 everyukulele fuc soprano-ukulele baritone-ukulele tenor-ukulele banjolele
I wrote this lyric for the "every ukulele" challenge and sure enough it inspired me to buy another one. Can I blame the muse? The base is Flower - my first soprano uke. Then Barry the baritone, Luke the tenor, White Lady the banjolele, Lilac the soprano waterman, and finally the one that just "fell in the cart" last week, Jaskier, my new acoustic/electric baritone. I gave each a little solo line within my ukulele love song.
This is a love song for my ukuleles an instrument I adore
It isn’t an exclusive relationship I have them scattered across the floor
My favorite is named Flower. She’s a soprano Flea
Barry is my baritone. A name without creativity
My third one I named Luke - He’s a tattooed tenor uke
I couldn’t resist a banjolele White Lady because she’s white
And a waterman in opaque purple named Lilac ‘cuz it felt just right
This is a love song for my ukuleles an instrument I adore
And though others have penned this already I think I need just a few more
I need a bass and an electric and a tenor with a high G
Luke is tuned to low G that’s way different you see
A second waterman for kids to play - when grandchildren come to stay
I need to keep off the Internet, places like Musician’s Friend
A friend like that will make enemies of my checkbook in the end
This is a love song for my ukuleles an instrument I adore
A world without ukuleles is one I would totally abhor
An electric baritone fell into my cart I fear
He’s beautiful without even plugging him in
His name is Jaskier

Great song with that lovely high soprano voice. Great chords especially the cheeky semitone below the tonic and great rhymes. I didn’t expect adore to go with abhor. And naming instruments is great. I do name cars that I’ve had but enough of my problems. Great song.

This is so much fun! Someday I’m going to learn to play my poor little ukulele, then I can sing her a love song! I think she’d like that a lot. I’ve now given one to each of my grandchildren, except my grandson. He wanted a guitar, silly boy.
I love this!

This is a cute song. Showcases your lovely voice over a simple uke arrangement, that gets complicated from time to time by the addition of different ukes as you mention them in the lyrics, which is a neat idea. And Jaskier....? Witcher fan? Anyway, fun song. Enjoyed listening to it. Thanks for sharing! #tit4tat

#tit4tat. Nice tribute to your uke family! I have plenty but only one with a name! They certainly all have different roles! Nice very uke style chord changes! Nice

Sweet! Lovely the melody that really suits the subject matter. Awesome ode to the ukes for the #everyukulele challenge. I laughed out loud at many lines! I hope by next year, you'll have a bass and an electric and a tenor with a high G. ;)

This is so cute - it could be the theme song of our ukulele meetups in Boston! And after a month or occasionally feeling a bit drudge-like, it reminds me of how much I love them too!

Ukuleles do have that habit of ordering themselves. I just don't know how it happens. What a great sound they all make!
@kenmattsson Feb 2022
Very fun, and I think I know the reference in the 2nd chorus! ;-)
I love how you gave each ukulele a voice in the production, so you can really hear them. Great job!

I love your song! Such a fun way to bring them all in by name, which I also love that you’ve named them all. I’m well familiar with the pull of Musician’s Friend and co., but there’s a store in my downtown with an entire wall full, so temptation is very high, and clearly I don’t have nearly enough yet!
@cindyrella Feb 2022
How endearing! They have names, as they should! What a joy to hear!
@gm7 Feb 2022
You love ukes and i know they love you. very ingenious lyrics.
@kahlo2013 Feb 2022
What wonderfully polyamorous relationships you have - and such a lovely affectionate tribute! This is absolutely delightful!
@sheamiejay Feb 2022
I like the way you introduce the voices of your ukes when the lyric comes up. What a fun song!

Barry the Baritone....I LOVE IT!!
This is adorable. I named my very first guitar "Number 1", but that is about all. I love the idea for this song, this is so cute and clever and love your playing and vocal....This is awesome!
