Well, I'm most likely not going to make it to 14 songs. I've been instead meticulously working on a handful of songs I'm really happy with though. I told myself from the beginning that I wanted to go for quality over quantity this year. Still, I'm hoping for a last week burst of energy to bring the number of songs to something I can at least feel proud of.
This song went in a totally different direction than I originally intended, and I'm glad. I sort of want to add something else at the end to close it off more neatly, but we'll see.
So strange
The feeling of transition into water
Oh, so strained
The fleeting, fading shades of dread and wonder
To the golden glow
A warming light that soothes my soul
Whore of Babylon
Stare at the sun and watch it fall
So strange
The way you make me feel I'm underwater
Oh, shame
I'm carrying this thing I never wanted
It's plain
to see the way the water shaped the mountain
This pain
I fear the person I would be without it
To the golden glow
It starts so slow, then comes alight
Hold it all within
It's not a sin to live your life

Wow. Ok, so I started with the things you just posted and am working backwards. You have an excellent ear for both the production here and the blending of different disjoint elements. When the guitar first comes in midway through this song is both totally unexpected and completely makes sense.
Keep it up, this is phenomenal stuff.

very nice, I think you have really captured the feeling of water and light
