Trying to write songs that lift the spirit.
There was bass in our faces as we left the dark places
With joy in our hearts and our eyes
We’d seen in between the bars and our screams
That the stars were the proof of our lives
That we struggle and yearn and occasionally earn
Something less than our dreams had described
But the music was soothing and souls were improving
Renewing our pace and our stride
So thank you Bob Dylan and thank you John Lennon
And thank you Dax Riggs and Sublime
And thank you Ice Cube and the Chili Peppers too
Without you I don’t think we’d survive
We saw Helmet and Primus and what woke up inside us
Still moves me when I fall behind
Because if Claypool can shake the earth with his bass
Then this obstacle I can survive
Then Vivaldi, with Spring, does his violin thing
And the chins lift away from the chests
And when laughter’s the thing that we most need to bring
Well that’s what Weird Al does the best

the struggle is real with that mic stand! "Then Vivaldi, with Spring, does his violin thing" was the best line, made me smile :)
